twenty four baggs of money have bene deliv … twenty four baggs of money have bene delivered att Oostend in case. the<br />
sayd shipp ''Salvador'' had safely arrived there, which this deponent [?the ?lpp ? Shipp]<br />
had done if by by the seizure aforesayd she had not bene prevented. And further<br />
he cannot depose.
To the Crosse Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first he saith and deposeth negatively.
To the second he saith that he hath knowne the Interrate Lorenzo de Veles for the<br />
three yeares now past. but Pedro Hameakert he knoweth not. And saith that he<br />
saw the sayd Lorenzo att Cadize and aboard the ''Salvador'' att the tyme interrate<br />
but John Baptista Steyne he saith he knoweth not it being onely<br />
a borrowed name under which the sayd Lorenzo de Veles laded the sayd sylver [?interrate]<br />
And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the third he saith that saving his answer to the second Interrate he cannot depose.
To the fourth, saving his fomer depositions, he cannot depose.
To the fifth he saith that Lorenzo de Véles laded the sayd money himselfe and<br />
the saime was received aboard in the day tyme by Christian Cloppenbergh<br />
Master or Captaine of the shipp ''Salvador'' And furher he cannot depose
To the sixth he saith that the sayd Cloppenbergh signed the bills of lading interrate<br />
in the sight of this deponent aboard the sayd shipp in the bay of Cadize, but<br />
the particular tyme he remembreth not saving that it was after the tyme<br />
of lading and before the departure of the sayd shipp from Cadize. And<br />
otherwise he cannot depose.
To the seventh he cannot depose.
To the eight he cannot depose. saving that the sayd money was laden<br />
aboard by the sayd Lorenzo de Véles and by noe other party whatsoever.
To the nynth he cannot depose.
To the tenth he saith that the sayd moneyes doe really belong to the sayd<br />
Lorenzo develes and the sayd Pedro and Andrea Hannekaert, and <br />
not to any subiect of the States Generall or King of ffrance interrate<br />
And the sayd shipp was really bound for Oostend and was there to make<br />
her full discharge. And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the eleventh he saith that he this Rendent heard the sayd Lorenzo develes<br />
in the presence of the Master of the ''Salvador'' say and declare that he laded<br />
the sayd moneyes for the Accompts aforesayd that is [?toe] only baggs thereof for<br />
his owne Accompt and four for the Accompt of Pedro and Andrea Hannekaert<br />
And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the twelfth he saith that the sayd Lorenzo himselfe loaded the sayd moneys<br />
aboard, And further he cannot depose.
To the thirteeneth he saith that the sayd Lorenzo , who laded the sayd twenty baggs for his<br />
owne Accompt bought the sayd money att Cadiz. And saith that the sayd<br />
Lorenzo de Veles bought likewise att Cadiz the other four baggs of peices of eight<br />
Peru money, with mexico money which he bought with him for the<br />
Accommpt of the sayd Pedro and Andrea Hannekaert from the Indyes<br />
as he likewise did his owne Peru money aforesayd with Mexico money<br />
brought him from the Indies att the same tyme. this deponent beinge<br />
present att the buying thereof att Cadiz aforesayd And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the fourteenth he saith that the sayd Lorenzo de Veles did say and declare<br />
in the presence and hearing of this deponent that he laded the sayd money<br />
videlicet twenty baggs thereof for his owne Account and att his owne perill<br />
and four [?other] of the sayd baggs for the Accompt and att the perill of the sayd<br />
Pedro and Andrea Hannekaerts. And otherwise he cannot depose.
