Cooper aged 55. yeares or thereabouts a Wittnes<br />
Sworne and examined saith as followeth videlicet:
To the said Libell and sewerall positions therein conteyned and schedule annexed hee saith and<br />
deposeth, That in the yeare <u>1648.</u> last past as hee now remembreth<br />
and in some of the moneths of the said yeare hee this deponent as being a<br />
Cooper by profession and having in that condition sewerall yeares before served<br />
the producent William hiscock, was by him employed for the bringing<br />
and lading aboard the shipp ''Edward'' whereof the lilate William Wood was then<br />
commonly accompted Master and part Owner three and thirty<br />
Tunnes of beare for the use and provisions of the said shipps<br />
Companies, which said Tunns this deponent saw carried in severall<br />
lighters by the said hiscocks his direction and received aboard the<br />
said shipp for the use aforesaid, in and to which hee this deponent<br />
verily beleeveth the same were really imployed and spent, but what<br />
the valew of the said goods then was, or at what rates goods of the like<br />
nature then were sold, or what satisfaction the said Wood had given<br />
in the producent for the same, or what dammage the said producent<br />
hath sustained by default of such satisfaction or payment this deponent saith<br />
hee knoweth not, And further referring himselfe to the Acts and<br />
proceedings of this Court, and beleeving the said Wood Andrew<br />
Riccard and Companie to be Englishmen and Subject to the Jurisdiction<br />
of this Court hee saith hee cannot deposeth:-/
