The 14th day of May 1655:
William hiscock and Partners against a}
certaine shipp called the Edward whereof}
William Wood was Master and against Alderman}
Andrew Riccard and Companie. Smith. Colequite}
Examined upon a Libell given and admitted
on the behalfe of the said hiscocks and
Partners:-/
Rp. EA. jus./
John Ifield of the parrish of Saint Olaves-Southwarke
Cooper aged 55. yeares or thereabouts a Wittnes
Sworne and examined saith as followeth videlicet:
To the said Libell and sewerall positions therein conteyned and schedule annexed hee saith and
deposeth, That in the yeare 1648. last past as hee now remembreth
and in some of the moneths of the said yeare hee this deponent as being a
Cooper by profession and having in that condition sewerall yeares before served
the producent William hiscock, was by him employed for the bringing
and lading aboard the shipp Edward whereof the lilate William Wood was then
commonly accompted Master and part Owner three and thirty
Tunnes of beare for the use and provisions of the said shipps
Companies, which said Tunns this deponent saw carried in severall
lighters by the said hiscocks his direction and received aboard the
said shipp for the use aforesaid, in and to which hee this deponent
verily beleeveth the same were really imployed and spent, but what
the valew of the said goods then was, or at what rates goods of the like
nature then were sold, or what satisfaction the said Wood had given
in the producent for the same, or what dammage the said producent
hath sustained by default of such satisfaction or payment this deponent saith
hee knoweth not, And further referring himselfe to the Acts and
proceedings of this Court, and beleeving the said Wood Andrew
Riccard and Companie to be Englishmen and Subject to the Jurisdiction
of this Court hee saith hee cannot deposeth:-/

Nicholas Farr of horsey-downe in the
parish of Saint Olaves Southwarke Waterman
aged 50. yeares or thereaabouts a Wittnesse sworne
and examined saith as followeth videlicet./
To the said libell and sewerall articles or positions therein conteyned and
to the schedule thereunto annexed hee saith, That hee this examinate
in or about the yeares 1647. 1648. or 1649. or some of them and some moneth of
the said yeares (the time hee doeth not at present more exactly remember)
