aged 51 yeares or thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the first Article of the sayd Allegation This deponent saith and deposeth that<br />
he well knoweth that for five yeares last past the sayd shipp the ''Salvador''<br />
hath and doth belong to the arlate Daniell Brands and Company all of them<br />
Inhabitants of Hamburgh, who have bene and are the true and lawfull Owners<br />
of her tackle apparell and furniture for and during all the sayd tyme<br />
videlicet the arlate Daniell Brands was and is lawfull owner and proprietor<br />
of one eighth part. Jerome Peterson, Jerome [?Snijter]. Jan Baptista Younker<br />
Gerald Bormaster, Henrick Hambrooke, Vincent Clingbroch (sic), are and<br />
were the tyme arlate each of them severally and respectively<br />
owners of one eighth part. And Dirick Roopke, and Christian<br />
Cloppenberg either of them respectively were and are Owners of<br />
one sixteenth part of the sayd shipp her tackle apparell and furniture<br />
and for, and as lawfull Owners accordingly the sayd persons have bene<br />
and are commonly accounted reputed and taken. And this deponent further<br />
saith that the premisses he knoweth to be true being well acquainted<br />
with the aforesayd Owners, and being borne in, an Inhabitant of Hamburgh<br />
(as they likewise have bene all their tymes; all of them being Native<br />
of the sayd place and there att present haveing their wives Children and family[?es])<br />
hath well observed the same And this deponent saith that in the yeare of our Lord 1647. the aforesayd<br />
shipp was built att Hamburgh aforesayd att the Charges and to and for the<br />
use and Accompt of the aforesayd Owners, and hath from such her first <br />
building, and first putting out to sea bene from tyme to tyme in the severall<br />
voyages she hath made fitted and furnished out att the Charges of<br />
the sayd Owners, and for their Accompt, all which this deponent hath well<br />
observed and taken notice of. And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the second he saith that the sayd shipp ''Salvadore'' in or about the yeare 1647<br />
was built att Hamburgh by the aforesayd Owners for their owne Accompt<br />
this deponent being then att Hamburgh and knoweing the same to be true<br />
And saith that noe Dutchman subiects of the States Generall of the<br />
United Provinces arlate or any ffrench subiect of the ffrench King<br />
arlate had or hath any title right share or interest therein or any part<br />
thereof. And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the third he saith and deposeth that the aforesayd Owners are all of them<br />
Natives of Hamburgh, where they now keepe their howses and familyes<br />
and have lived there all the tyme arlate of this deponents certaine<br />
knowledge and indeed all their tymes respectively, and are all of them<br />
Subiects of the State of Hamburgh and so accounted, and not of any<br />
