Ad. 5.um affirmat That in the latter end of May of<br />
beginninge of June Laste past stile nove<br />
Bartholomew Barrillaro a [?XXXX] Curriere<br />
or Conductor of monies for the Kinge of<br />
Spaine and Merchants from Madrid to<br />
the sea side, did depart from Madrid with<br />
126 chests of ryalls and barrs of silver then<br />
to bee carried to the Groyne uppon mules<br />
backs, which hee knoweth to bee true for that<br />
hee as then at Madrid and saw the said<br />
Barillaro goe from thence with the said<br />
chests of ryalls and barrs, And hee sayeth<br />
That after the said Barrillero returned from<br />
the Groyne to Madrid, (which was to his<br />
best remembrance about the moneth of<br />
August laste) the said Barrillero did tell<br />
this examinate beeing then alsoe at Madrid<br />
that hee had carried the fore said 126 chests<br />
of ryalls and barrs downe to the Groyne and<br />
had there delivered them into the Kinge of<br />
Spaines Customehouse and thatt they<br />
were there Registered, and that hee the said<br />
Barillero then caused them to bee laden into<br />
the Kinge of Englands shippe: the ''Victory''<br />
(whereof Captaine [?XXXXX] was Commannder,<br />
and that hee had laden seaven hundred and twenty<br />
thousand of the said ryales under the license of the [?arlate]<br />
ffrancisco Maria de [?Parbenetti] and had assigned<br />
two hundred thousand thereof to the use of [?XXX]<br />
