Saint John alias Charitie [?roXXX] per}
the dragon frigot}
Arthur Burla[XXX] one of the Company
of the Dragon frigot, aged 22 yeeres or
thereabouts, sworne on behalf of his
Majestie saith and deposeth.
That the said frigot the Dragon Captaine [?Quile] commander
in her immediate service of his Maiestie scouting by order
of the Generall off the fflie on the coast of Holland
about two monethes since espied two vessells standing in for
the fflie, and the said Captaine setting out his boate
[?XXXXed] after them, the said two vessells companies bestooke
themselves to their boates and fledd, and soe the said two
vessells were taken by the frigots pinnace in which pinnace
this deponent was one, and helped to board and
seize them, one of which hee saith had a picture on her
sterne, which was said to be the Charitie, but as hee hath
since heard, shee hath by a dutchman that knew her bin
affirmed to be named the Saint John and to be belonging to
Amsterdam, but the name of the other hee knoweth not,
and saith the said two vessells were and are holland built,
and their companies that soe ran away caried the
papers with them as hee verily beleeveth for hee
saith there were none left in either of them

examinatus.

Abraham Walvin, Sopracargo navis the Nostra Signora
del Gratia, natus in parochia Sancti Salvatoris in burg da
Southwarke, aetatis 23 aut et circiter testis productus et iuratus
Ad primum arlum deponit that hee this deponent hath well knowne
the said shipp the Nostra Signora del Gratia for eight monethes last
and for that space hath served in her as Pilott and hath likewise knowne
the arlate Peter [?Lowicelli] for all that time, and that the said Peter
hath for that time (and as hee hath bin credibly informed for two yeeres
last) bin the sole proprietor of her and of her tackle and furniture
and soe hee is at present and for such commonly accompted, which
hee knoweth for that besides the office of Sopracargo which hee
this deponent dischardgeth in the said shipp on behalfe of the other
rendents hee was constituted Pilot of her by the said
Signor [?Lowecelli] as owner, who was and is a citizen and shop keeper
of quilts and such other commodities there, where this deponent hath bin
severall times at his house and shopp, and for owner of the said shipp
(which hee saith is Venetian built) and a citizen there and a subiect
of the [?Signorie] or State of Venice, hee the said [?Lowicelli] was and is
commonly accompted and reputed, And the said [?Lowicelli] payes this
deponents wages as Pilot at 25 ducats per monerh
