Transcription

To the nineth hee saith hee verily beleeveth the said producents (to
whom alone the said Campecha wood belongeth) do run the risgo of the
same, and that noe Spaniard or other subiect of the king of Spaine or
enemie of this Commonwealth hath any interest therein, And
hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition, and further cannot depose.

To the tenth hee saith the said Cornelius [?Suyshens] was and is a
dutchman, native of Amsterdam where this deponent well jnew and
was acquainted with him before his going for the Canaries, which was his going ]?XXX]
about fifteene monethes since, and was and is a subiect of the said
States of the United Netherlands, and lives at the Canaries only as a factor
and Stranger, and for such hee was and is commonly accounted, And
further hee cannot depose saving as aforesaid.

To the last hee saith his foregoing deposition was and is true.

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith hee knoweth not that ever the interrogated Cornelius
[?Suyshens] was at the West Indies, nor doth not beleeve that ever hee was
there, And further saving as aforesaid hee cannot answer.

To the second hee saith hee upon his comming to Santa Cruse
saw the shipp the Saint John (Peter Jansen master) there, and
heard that shee came shortly before from the West Indies
and otherwise hee cannot answer.

To the third hee saith that hee hard that the said shipp the
Saint John in the said West Indies voyage seized an English
shipp, but her name hee heard not nor knoweth and otherwise hee cannot
answer saving negativelt for his part, and as aforesaid.

To he fourth hee saith the said [?Suyshens] had somwhat above
halfe the said Campecha wood out of the said shipp the Saint
John, which as hee beleeveth brought the same from the West
Indias, and laded the same then aboard the Liesda, and
the rest hee sent from the shore, where this deponent before
such sending, saw it in a warehouse at Santa Cruse, but
whether that alsoe came out of the Saint John before such
putting the same into the said warehouse hee knoweth not,
and otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid and
negatively for his part.

To the fifth hee saith hee was not present at the
buying the Campecha wood aforesaid, and otherwise hee
cannot answer.
