Transcription Ad 6. 7. et 8. arlos dicit that whilest thAd 6. 7. et 8. arlos dicit that whilest the said ship soe<br /> lay under the said Castle and fforts at Scilley within his<br /> Majestiies Chamber there to have the Leake or Leakes [?im GUTTER]<br /> the ''Osama kirke'' stopped as aforesaid, there came foure<br /> Dutchmen of warr to the Iland of Scilly three of which<br /> besett the said Iland and the other (being called the<br /> ''Salamander'' Jacob Wildescutt Comander) did in a [?presumptious GUTTER]<br /> manner come into his said Majesty of Chamber and<br /> with in Comand of the fforts at Scilly (where<br /> the said shipps ''Michael'' and ''Osama kirke'' lay in peace mot<br /> fearing any Enemy there,) and assaulted the said<br /> ship ''Michael'' giving her Master and Company [?XXX GUTTER]<br /> language saying [?XXX XXXXX GUTTER]<br /> [?XXX XXXXX XXXX] and such like names, and Imediately came<br /> up to the ''Michael'' and in a hostile and violent manner<br /> without any cause given to them by the said Weaver or any<br /> of his Company fired severall Great Gunnes and [?XXX GUTTER]<br /> shotts at and upon the ''Michael'' and killed the said<br /> Weaver and his Boatswaine, and shott the Quarter[?XXX GUTTER]<br /> in the belly soe that hee dyed the next morning and<br /> Gunner leaping over board hoping to escape their [?XXX GUTTER]<br /> was drowned, and this deponent alsoe leaping<br /> over board to save himselfe, and having taken hold<br /> of a Rope called out to some of the Company of the<br /> said Dutchman of warr (their having then boarded the<br /> ''Michael'') for Gods sake to save his life and pulled<br /> him up and one of them hauling him about halfe way<br /> up let him fall downe againe soe that this<br /> deponent was thereby in great danger of drowning. [?XXX GUTTER]<br /> they having boarded her they laid the said Weaver [?and GUTTER]<br /> the Boatswaine (which they had killed upon their back [?XXX GUTTER]<br /> naked on the said ships deck, and in a most inhumane<br /> manner cut or stabbed the said weaver in three places<br /> saying that there was one rogue gone and that hee would<br /> noe more [?XXXX], and other such like language, and the<br /> Captaine of the ''Salamander'' sent for this deponent and his<br /> precontest Wm.
