other bill of Lading in the Dutch Language bearing date<br />
the six day of Aprill 1658: in which the said goods are mentioned<br />
to be for the account and risco of S:r Pieter Lois Van Lostach<br />
of Amsterdam Merchant which said Dutch bill was made meerely<br />
Colouable, and the better to save the said Goofs from Confisc=<br />
=tion in case the said ship should be taken by Spaniards.<br />
and saith the said Lostach doth live at Amsterdam as this<br />
hath bin informed and further deposeth not.
To the 19th (having perused the 2 bills of Lading to the said Allegation annexed<br />
hee saith and deposeth that the same were and are<br />
the bills of Lading which were signed by the said Benniwysent<br />
for the said Robles his goods which were sent hence to the Canaries and saith ?they were soe signed by<br />
the said Peter Bennewysent in this deponents Dwelling house situate<br />
in ffanchurchstreet London in this deponents presence on or neere about the dayes of the<br />
dates thereof. And further deposeth not./.
To the 11th 12 13: and 14th hee saith that upon the arrivall of the said ship the<br />
''Saint Laurence'' from the Canarijes, there were aboard her<br />
six Pipes of Canarye wines of the first marke,<br />
in the Margent, and Eighty Eight Pipes of Canary wines<br />
marked with the second marke in the margent, and one<br />
hundred and sixty sticks of Logwood, and Eight and thirty<br />
bundles of sassa Perillia, and two baggs of Cacoa Nutts<br />
which were (as this deponent verily beleeveth and as hee is<br />
perswaded in his Conscience), Laden aboard the said ship<br />
at the Canaryes by the said Simon da herrera Leyva with<br />
the Proceed of the foresaid goods sent to him from the said Mr<br />
Robbles, for and upon the sole account (and adventure<br />
of him the said Robbeles and having nowe seene and perused<br />
the bill of Lading for the said wines and other goods formerly Exhibited and the subscrip=<br />
=tion thereto, hee saith that hee being well acquainted with<br />
the Character or manner of writing of the said Peter Benniwysent<br />
hee is Perswaded in his Conscience that the said bill is really<br />
signed by the said Peter Bennywijsent the Master of the said ship<br />
the ''Saint Laurence''; And saith that whereas in the said Bill<br />
of Lading (which is in the Dutch Language) for the said wines<br />
and other goods brought from the Canaries in the said ship it is<br />
mentioned and Expressed that the said wines and other goods<br />
afore specified were for the account and Risgo of the foresaid<br />
S:r Peeter Louis van Lostach, the same was soe done meerely to<br />
Colour the said goods (as hee verily beleeveth), and in case they<br />
met with any Spaniards the said Bill might be shewed, the<br />
better to Colour the said wines and goods. and to Prevent the seizure<br />
and Confiscation of the same, and saith the said bill of Lading<br />
