Transcription touched the ''John'' after that time, And touched the ''John'' after that time, And saith that<br /> the Cutting the said Lanyard of the ''John'' was all<br /> the damage that came or happened to her by meanes<br /> of her coming foule of the ''Mary Rose'' and the<br /> same came and was occasioned by reason of<br /> the sheering of the said ship as aforesaid and not<br /> by any default of or in the master or Company of<br /> the ''Mary Rose'' or any of them. And saith that<br /> when the ''John'' came foule of the ''Mary Rose'' as<br /> aforesaid the ''Mary Rose'' was neerer the shore then<br /> the ''John'' and soe Continued all the time the said<br /> ships were foule of each other, and when the<br /> ''Mary Rose'' was Cleered she passed Betweene<br /> the ''John'' and the shore and was in more danger<br /> that the ''John'' then was and her Sterne was<br /> aground, but by the Care and paine of her<br /> Company shee was got of and left the ''John'' as<br /> aforesaid, which hee knoweth for the reasons aforesaid.<br /> And further cannot depose./: To the 6th and 7th hee saith that the ''Mary Rose''<br /> did not the said time dragg home the Anchor<br /> of the ''John'' neither could she soe doe it being<br /> then a Slack tyde and but a little winde And<br /> saith that if the said ship ''John'' did afterwards<br /> come aground the same came not nor was<br /> occasioned by the Master or Company of the<br /> ''Mary Rose'' or any of them. And saith that the place<br /> where the ''John'' was left at Anchor was in Tinmouth<br /> Haven and not in the sea, and saith that if the<br /> ''John'' had bin a strong ship though she had<br /> come agound, and her master and Company had<br /> taken care of her and done as is usuall in such<br /> Cases she might have bin brought oft without<br /> much prejudice, and saith that it is usuall for ships<br /> there to come aground and get oft againe in safety<br /> and saith that when the ''Mary Rose'' was Cleared there<br /> these two ships a ground and called the ''willing''<br /> ''minde'' of Alboron and the other called ''Robert and Elisabeth'' (or ''Elisabeth and Robert'')<br /> of Ipwich which ships afterwards got off in safety this deponent<br /> seeing [BOTTOM RH MARGIN]nent<br /> seeing [BOTTOM RH MARGIN]  +
