Wharfe sailemaker, aged Eighteene<br />
yeeres or thereabouts, sworne and Examined
To the first he saith hee Knoweth the ship the ''house of''<br />
''ffreindship''. and hath Knowne her for about two yeeres<br />
last and well Knoweth that for and during the moneth<br />
of December, January and ffebruary 1657 the Arlate<br />
Nicholas Treworghy whom this Deponent then<br />
well Knew was Master and Comander of the said ship<br />
soe Comonly accounted And further cannot<br />
depose ./.
To the 2nd 5th and 7th articles hee saith that within<br />
the monethes aforesaid the said ships old sailes<br />
did want mending and shee likewise wanted new<br />
sailes, Cloath and other Store without which shee could<br />
not have safely proceeded on the voyage she was<br />
bound out upon. And saith that the arlate George Shawe Sailemaker was ordered by the said Treworghy to mend the old sailes of the<br />
said ship, in or about the moneths of January or ffebruary<br />
1657.<br />
And likewise New sails were then bespoke<br />
of the said Shawe for the said ship, which were made<br />
accordingly, and the same were<br />
bespoke by the said Treworghy<br />
and while the said New sailes were making and<br />
the old sailes of the said ship mending, the said Treworghy<br />
and the arlate Catlyn, did severall times come to the<br />
said Shawes shopp (scituate at Tower Wharfe) and spake to him the said Shawe, and<br />
to his sonne and sometimes to this Deponent (who helped to mend and make<br />
the sayd sailes) to dispatch the making and mending the<br />
said Sailes; And saith that all and singular the worke<br />
mentioned in the said Schedulate now read by him this Deponent was done for the use<br />
of the said ship, and the same was well worth the summes<br />
Schedulate, And likewise all the new sailes cloath and<br />
other store mentioned in the said Schedule was really<br />
Delivered by the said Shawes order for the use of the said ship<br />
and the same were well worth the severall sumes set<br />
downe for the same in the said schedule. those prices<br />
and rates being the said time the usuall prices and rates<br />
for the same, The premisses hee deposeth being the said time<br />
