Transcription this deponent persuading him to the contrathis deponent persuading him to the contrary, and soe went with<br /> the said shipp to GarrachiXo, and thither hee XXXX XXXXX the said<br /> Capitan dell Mara had told him that there was an English shipp there<br /> and comming neere GarrachiXo the said ketcher looked with his<br /> perpective glasse, and seeing a shipp of burthen there, said shee<br /> was a man of warr, and that if they went further in shee<br /> would take them, and soe stahed his course for the Madera Island?s<br /> where the said ketcher sold part of his said lading and tooke<br /> in other goods for Barbary. All which hee knoweth being present<br /> and seeing the premisses soe donne. To the twelveth hee saith that when hee this deponent was soe<br /> at Oratava hee was there informed that there had not in a<br /> long time bin any shipp there from Italy or parts thereabouts saving one that<br /> came from Majorca, and that there was in the Canaries XXXX<br /> Want of Rice, sope, silke, silke stockings paper and other<br /> goods such as were brought by them in the said shipp the ''Lisbone''<br /> ''frigot'', And hee verily beleeveth and was informed that the<br /> said goods of the said shipp would have proffited ?three cento<br /> per cento, for hee saith that silke stockings which were aboard<br /> and cost at ligorne but two peaces of eight and a quarter per peice<br /> would at Oratava have yeelded five peeces of eight per peice,<br /> And saith the said John Maria Basso declared and told<br /> this deponent, that hee had prepared and would make<br /> retourne of the said shipps cargo in CannXXcha Wood from<br /> the Canaries to London, And otherwise hee cannot depose To the thirteenth hee cannot depose. saving the losse is very great. To the fourteenth hee referreth him selfe to the Registrie of this Court<br /> and further hee cannot depose. To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING] To the first hee saith hee cometh requested by mr Parker and<br /> mr Greene to testifie the truth in this busines, and saith at Ligorne<br /> hee was by mr Michael aforesaid (as correspondent or agent<br /> of the said mr Greene and company) imployed in the said<br /> shipp the ''Lisbone frigot'', and the said mr Michaell was to pay him his<br /> wages or salary, which was twelve peeces of eight and halfe per<br /> moneth, and saith hee hath received but thirtie three peaces<br /> therof as yet, and saith hee was 6 monethes and about 20 dayes<br /> in the said service, for the rest whereof hee is yet unpaid, and saith<br /> that hee takes only soe much as soe was him for his present support<br /> and doth not here expect the payment of the rest, but expecteth it when<br /> hee comes thence to Ligorne. To the second Interrogatorie hee saith hee this deponent had only two fictitious<br /> letters in his custodie and carriage from Ligorne wherewith to<br /> help secure the said shipp and goods in her passage against enemies, but the<br /> bill of health, letter to John Maria Basso, their cocket and passeport for<br /> the greate duke were in the custodie of the said ketcher till such their<br /> comming to an anchor before Oratava, and that the said mr ketcher<br /> delivered them to this deponent, and this deponent kept them<br /> allnd this deponent kept them<br /> all  +
