the Deck of the said Ship, that the Spaniards on shore would<br />
not upon any meanes let them have Prattick for their said<br />
Ship there, in reagard shee came from Italy, where the plague<br />
then was or verie lately before had bin, and said that they<br />
would not soe much as lett him goe ashore to goe up to the<br />
Towne of Oratava, because hee was an Italian and<br />
Came from Italy. but spake and talked to him, upon a Rock<br />
where the said Dutch Boate set him, or to that Effect; and<br />
further hee cannot depose :/:
To the 6th and 7th hee saith that about two dayes after the said<br />
Tye had soe as aforesaid bin on shore, the said Ketcher did againe<br />
send his boate ashore to Oratava with the said Tye therein<br />
and after hee had bin absent about two or three houres, hee<br />
returned againe aboard the said Ship in the said Boate, and then tolde<br />
the said Ketcher that the Spaniards on shore would not permit<br />
him to come on shore; and said hee could not possibly obtaine<br />
Pratcick for the said Ship, for that shee came from Italy aforesd<br />
or to that effect, which hee soe spake and said in this deponents presence<br />
And further hee cannot depose./.
To the 8th hee saith that about such time as the said Tye had<br />
bin the second time ashore, as aforesaid there was news come<br />
to the Road of Oratava and places adhjacent that the English<br />
had taken Dunkirke, and had killed all the Spaniards therein<br />
after they had given them quarter, and further hee cannot<br />
Dispose:/:
To the 9th hee saith that in the afternoone of the said day<br />
that the said Tye had bin the second time ashore as aforesaid<br />
their came a Spanish Boate to the Lixon ffrigot side, (which came<br />
from Otrava,) with about Eight or 9 Spaniards in it, and told the said<br />
Ketcher and Tye, and others of the said Ships Company on the<br />
Deck of the said Ship, that they might have Practick for ?the said<br />
Ship, but said that it was upon this Condition that the Master<br />
Mate, Purser, [Boatswaine has been crossed out], and one or two more, of the said<br />
Ships Compnany. must goe on shore,<br />
and unlesse they would soe doe they could not have<br />
Prattick, and the said Tye was then in the said Ship, and the<br />
said Ketcher spake to the said Tye to tell them that it was not<br />
according to the Custome & use of the sea, for a Master, Mate, Purser.<br />
