aged 26 yeares or there abouts sworne and examined.
To the seaventeenth and eighteenth articles hee saith and<br />
deposeth that hee well knoweth the shipp the ''Baniamin''<br />
arlate and was Merchant or Supra cargo of her the voyage<br />
in question, in behalfe of her imployers, and thereby well knoweth<br />
that the said shipp the said voyage sailing from fort Saint George<br />
on the coast of Cormandel for Surat (whereunto shee was bound<br />
and comming neere the port of Goa, her Captaine and<br />
this deponent espied two shipps which after wards made saile towards her<br />
and they having espied a white Ensigne upon one of them<br />
and having before heard some report that there were ffrench<br />
men of warr come into the parts of India, [gave]<br />
them cause to suspect them to be such, but comming neare to<br />
her, they perceived them to have the Holland colours aboard<br />
and saith that at a distance they shott from the Headmost of<br />
