Transcription informed by an oile man who bought the resinformed by an oile man who bought the rest that was<br /> brought home. [?More] an hundred fourtie and nine barrells of<br /> anchov[?oe]s, which were worth and would then alsoe have yeelded to<br /> be here sold fourtie five shillings per barrell, and of the<br /> shipps [XXXX], tackle, furniture and appurtenance to the valew of<br /> two hundred and fiftie pounds sterling sixteene shillings and sixe<br /> pence. And saith that by meanes of the said seizure and detention<br /> the said shipp lost a good market for her lading which shee brought<br /> home, in regard other shipps in the meane while arived with the<br /> same commodities, which they had not donne, in<br /> all probabilitie if the said seizure had not happened, and<br /> that the said owners the producents by the said losse of market<br /> of the goods they brought home being twenty sixe tonnes and<br /> an hundred and seaven gallons of oile were dammaged in the [?oiles] by that<br /> said seizure the summe of eight pounds per tonne, and upon twenty<br /> nine barrells of anchovas alsoe brought home, they were alsoe<br /> dammaged in losse of market eighteene shillings per barrell<br /> which was occasioned alsoe by the said seizure. And saith there<br /> were silkes, sweet meates, rice and paper lost and embeazeld<br /> by the said seizure, to the val[?ue] of twenty pounds sterling<br /> And further that the said shipp the ''Parker frigot'' was Detained<br /> under and by meanes of the said seizure the space of sixe weekes<br /> and saith that the said owners have bin at charges in<br /> [XXXg] to recover the said shipp and goods at Cadiz, and<br /> for charges of fitting and provisioning of her instead of what<br /> shee wanted and was deprived of by the said seizure, and for<br /> the companies victualls and other necessarie expences, thae<br /> summe of fiftie sixe pounds and seaven shillings sterling,<br /> The totall summe of all with [?force] [XXXXed] dammages according as<br /> this deponent hath cast the sume up amounteth to fifteene hundred<br /> thirtie six pounds, tenn shillings and six pence, And moreover hee<br /> saith the said shipp was well worth sixtie pounds per moneth<br /> to bee imployed, and that the said [XXXXs] were over and above<br /> the premisses dammaged by her said six weeks stay and losse<br /> of imployment for that time, the summe of ninetie pounds<br /> sterling in his this deponents estimation, yeelding a reason as<br /> aforesaid, And otherwise hee cannot depose. To the eighth hee saith that upon their comming to Cadiz<br /> hee heard it commonly said that there was pease and amitie<br /> betweene this Commonwealth and the States of the United<br /> Netherlands, and that the said pease was made before the<br /> said seizure which seizure was upon the said thirteenth of May 1654<br /> English stile; And otherwise referring himselfe to the articles<br /> of teh said Pease, hee cannot depose.
