Transcription To the Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING] TTo the Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING] To the first hee saith hee hath noe relation to the producent mr Boone<br /> nor any interest in the silver or cochanilla claimed, and that hee cometh<br /> to testifie the truth in this cause on the instance of the said mr<br /> Boone, and that hee expecteth noe benefit thereby, though there<br /> be restitution. To the second hee saith mr Boone was not present at Antwerp<br /> when the said account was made up, and otherwise hee referreth<br /> himselfe to his foregoeing deposition, saying the said mr Goldsmith made<br /> or managed the making and casting up the said account, and<br /> this deponent wrote and entred the same. To the third hee saith hee was not present at the making the<br /> said act of Transport or assignment, but beleeveth it to bee<br /> very true and reale, and made meerely in consideration of the foresaid<br /> reall debt, and otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid. On behalfe of the foresaid Cohn}<br /> touching the ''ffortune'' of Garnesey} '''Rp. 3.''' '''Eleazar le Marchaut''' the yonger of Garnesey Marchant and Mariner<br /> aged 22 yeares or thereabouts sworne and<br /> exámined. To the first Interrogatory hee sauth hee hath well knowne the shipp<br /> the ''ffortune'' interrogated for theise two yeares last past or thereabouts, and saith<br /> that on or about the nineteenth day of November last past ffrench stile<br /> the said shipp set saile and departed from the river of nantes<br /> for Noirmonstier, there to take in her full lading and thence to saile for<br /> London, and that hee this examinate was then Captaine and merchant of her. To the second and third Interrogatories hee saith and deposeth that the<br /> said shipp the said voyage ariving in the Roade of Noirmonstier<br /> came to an anchor about a Cannon shot from shoare, in a place<br /> where shipps frequently use to anchor and ride to receive advise from<br /> the shoare. And at the same time there was a Biscayer or other<br /> Spanish man of warr anchored in the same roade about halfe a cannon<br /> shott from the ''ffortune'', which when this deponent commander and<br /> Merchant of the ''ffortune'' perceived, hee this examinate went ashore<br /> to to speake with Monsieur Gazeau to whom hee was consigned by monsieur de la<br /> ffardier of nantes (this deponents freighter) to acquaint him with<br /> his arivall, and get a more certaine knowledge of that man of<br /> warr, and to knowe whether the place where the ''ffortune'' was<br /> anchored was a fitt and convenient place for her to ride in and to<br /> take in the rest of her lading, but the said monsieur Gazeau<br /> being absent, monsieur de Daisne his the said monsieur Gazeau's<br /> kinsman and partner and agent for him in his absence told this<br /> examinate that the said shipp was not in a place convenient for her<br /> lading, being winter time and in such a season as was not fit for<br /> lading her as was not fit for<br /> lading her  +
