thereabouts sworne and exámined.
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth hee well knew and<br />
was part owner of the shipp the ''Industrie'' arlate in her last<br />
voyage wherein shee was at Bourdeaux, whense they saith shee<br />
was to retourne to Plimouth. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the second third and fourth Interrogatories hee saith and deposeth<br />
that hee well knoweth the interrogated George Burrard of<br />
Plimouth Merchant, and saith the said Mr Burrard was at<br />
Plimouth a part freighter of the said shipp for the said voyage<br />
to goe from Plimouth to Bourdeaux and back againe for Plimouth<br />
namely shee was freighted by him and John Gubbs of Plimouth<br />
merchant by Charter partie, wherein shee was said to be<br />
freighted for their service or Imployment, and they two only as<br />
freighters signed the Charter partie, which hee knoweth being<br />
acquainted with the affreightment and seeing the said Charter<br />
partie when it was soe signed. And besides hee saith that<br />
the said shipp going to Saint Ives in Cornwalll to take in her<br />
outwards lading of Pilchards for Bourdeaux, the said Mr<br />
Burrard sent Anthony Smith his factor from Plimouth<br />
to Saint Ives to see to the said lading, and for theise reasons<br />
this deponent conceiveth and beleeveth that the said shipps<br />
homewards lading was in part belonging to him the said Mr<br />
Burrard; which home wards lading as this deponent hath bin<br />
informed by some of the said shipps company was wine<br />
brandewine and prunes amounting in all to twenty three [?tonnes GUTTER]<br />
or thereabouts, and was taken in at Bourdeaux, and that in<br />
the said shipps retourne thense for Plimouth, shee was met<br />
with and forcibly seized and with the said lading carried by<br />
an Ostend man of warr (which soe seized her) to Ostend, and<br />
soe the said shipp and goods were and are utterly lost. And<br />
otherwise hee cannot depose, not being in the voyage./
