Examined upon the foresaid allegation of 17 articles.

thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the fourth article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that in and<br />
for all the time arlate, the said freight of goods by the tonne from<br />
Cyprus and Scanderoone to London was for grosse goods as cotten woolls at<br />
and after the rate of 6 ''li'' per tonne, of galls 4 ''li'' per tonne, and of fine goods<br />
at 7 ''li'' per tonne, which hee knoweth for that hee is a Turkey merchant<br />
and hath knowne severall persons pay after those rates as the<br />
common and usuall rates. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 8th hee saith that hee beleeveth and hath heard that within the times<br />
arlate namely betwixt September 1653 and September 1654 severall mercahnts<br />
for Cotton woolls brought from ligorne to London in the ''dart ffrigot'' and<br />
the ''hope'' of London paid fro freight 12 ''li'' sterling per tonne and for freight of Galls<br />
8 ''li'' per tonne, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
Upon the rest of the articles of this allegation hee is not examined by direction of<br />
the producent.
Upon the allegation of 45 articles.
To the fourth article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that<br />
all goods that are laden aboard shipps at Scanderon and Cyprus ought to be<br />
weighed, and the master or Purser of such a shipp<br />
or shipps aboard which the same are to be laden ought to take the wight thereof<br />
it being the usuall custome to make that weight good here, which hee<br />
knoweth having bin long resident at Alleppo as a factor, and since trading<br />
as a merchant into those parts from this port. And otherwise<br />
hee cannot depose.
To the 6th article hee saith that any Aleppo or Cyprus kintell<br />
maketh one hundred Rotolo's, and every Rotolo should make a certaine [?foure GUTTER]<br />
pounds, thirteene ounces (English Aver dupois weight) as usually account<br />
soe tha 252 kintalls and 44 kintalls, and 26 Rotolo's and<br />
eight Rotolo's, make in all kintalls 292 Rotolos 34, which hee knoweth<br />
being acquainted with the contents and amount of those weights by the<br />
meanes aforesaid. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 7th hee saith that 296 kintalls and 34 Rotolo's of Cotton<br />
Woolls, make English weight (at foure pounds thirteene<br />
ounces to the Rotolo) 142613 pounds and tenn ounces if right cast,<br />
And otherwise referring himselfe to the schedule arlate, hee cannot<br />
depose.
To the 8th article hee saith that 470 Rotolos appeare by the Invoice<br />
arlate (nowe showne unto him) to be neate Turkish weight 30[?390 GUTTER]<br />
Rotolos. And otherwise referring himselfe to the billd of lading and<br />
Invoice arlate, hee cannot depose saving as aforesaid.
To the 9th hee saith that every Rotolo of neate Turkisj weight [?and GUTTER]<br />
to the usuall accompt maketh or conteineth foure pounds thirteene ounces<br />
English weight, and soe 30390 Rotolos, make English weight 1305 [?XXX GUTTER]<br />
seaven pounds of galls as this deponent hath cast the same up<br />
