Transcription thousand three hundred and ninetie Rotolosthousand three hundred and ninetie Rotolos, which hee knoweth<br /> for the reasons aforesaid. And hee referreth himselfe to the<br /> bills of lading and Invoices arlate, And otherwise hee cannot<br /> depose. To the 9th hee saith that every Rotolo of neate Turkish weight<br /> maketh foure pounds and thirteene ounces of English weight<br /> and soe thirtie thousand three hundred and ninetie Rotolos, make<br /> in English weight 1305 hundred weight - 3 quarters and 7 pounds of galls,<br /> And otherwise hee cannot depose. To the 13th article hee saith and deposeth that hee this deponent<br /> according to the note of delivery made by George hughes (given<br /> this deponent by Mr ffowke) findeth that the said hughes<br /> came short in his delivery according to the English pounds, 6970<br /> pounds and five ounces of Cotton woolls, and for galls 57 hundred weight, one<br /> quarter and eleaven pounds. And otherwise hee cannot depose. To the 14th hee saith that every Rotolo of Cyprus neate weight<br /> maketh six pounds and one third of a pound of Cyprus weight<br /> and soe 296 kintalls and 34 Rotolo's or 39 thousand six hundred<br /> thirtie foure Rotolos (which is one and the same number of neate<br /> Cyprus weight) maketh neate ligorne weight 187682 pounds,<br /> which hee knoweth having alsoe lived<br /> a merchant at ligorne for the space of nine yeares or thereabouts,<br /> And otherwise hee cannot depose. To the 15th hee saith that as it appeares by the second schedule<br /> annexed to the said allegation (whereunto hee referreth himselfe)<br /> the grosse weight of Cottons that were delivered by the said George<br /> hughes to George Norleigh for the accompt of Alderman<br /> ffrederick and company, was only one hundred eightie two thousand<br /> nine hundred fourtie six ligorne pounds. And saith that the tare<br /> for Ropes and Canvas of 182946 pounds of Cotton, ligorne weight<br /> was and ought to be fourteene ligorne pounds and three fourths<br /> per sack for every sack, which amounts to 4557 pounds three quarters,<br /> which being deducted out of the aforesaid 182946 ligorne pounds<br /> there rests neate ligorne pounds 178388 pounds and a quarter<br /> neate which is short of the weight said to be delivered aboard the<br /> said shipp 9293 pounds 9 ounces (ligorne weight). And otherwise<br /> hee cannot depose. To the 16th hee saith that every pound of ligorne weight of<br /> Cottons and Galls maketh three fourths of a pound of English<br /> weight, and soe 9293 pounds, and 9 ounces of ligorne weight<br /> neate is or makes in English weight 6970 pounds and five ounces.<br /> And otherwise soe saving as aforesaid hee cannnot depose.
