To the 6th hee saith hee referreth himself … To the 6th hee saith hee referreth himselfe to the Registrie of this<br />
Court and further hee cannot depose
To the 7th hee saith hee verily beleeveth that the sayd hamond by<br />
reason of the non payment of his money due for the sayd two parcells<br />
of beefe predeposed of and the other tenn parcells schedulate which this<br />
deponent heard the sayd Carrey confesse hee also ought the sayd hamond<br />
for is damnified (besides his principall money for the same) the<br />
summe of twenty pounds sterling for want of the same to make use of<br />
in his trade of a butcher And further to this article hee cannot depose/
To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true/
To the Interrogatories/ [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first hee saith hee is a servant in house to the sayd producent hamond<br />
and soe hath bin ever since about the sixth day of ffebruary 1654 and cometh<br />
to testifie the truth of his knowledge in this cause at the request of the<br />
sayd hamond And to the rest of the Interrogatorie hee answereth negatively/
To the 2 hee saith hee sawe the sayd two last parcells schedulate delivered<br />
at severall tyes on board the boate of the shipp the ''Sisters'' to the shipps<br />
company and saith the sayd Carey himselfe was alsoe present when part<br />
of the same was soe delivered to his sayd Company and further hee cannot<br />
answere hee not takeing notice where the shipp lay the tymes Interrogate<br />
nor goeing alonge in the boate with the beefe soe delivered./
To the 3 hee saith the sayd two last parcells of beefe predeposed of were weighed in this deponents presence and<br />
this deponent helped to weigh the same and hee saith the same was<br />
delivered fresh, and soe hee beleeveth were the other tenn parcells schedulate<br />
and hee heard the sayd Carey saye the sayd tenn parcells of beefe was all sweete and<br />
good and hee saith the sayd 2 parcells were delivered aboard the sayd boate<br />
at Wapping, and further to this Interrogatorie hee cannot depose/
To the 4th hee saith hee heard the sayd Carey since the 4th of<br />
July 1653 saye that hee had paid the sayd hamond three pounds in parte<br />
of payment for the sayd beefe hee had receaved of him for the use of the shipp<br />
the ''Sisters'' of Ipswich, and alsoe heard the sayd hamond confesse hee<br />
had receved the sayd three pounds in part of payment for the sayd beefe,<br />
And further hee cannot answere/
To the 5th and 6th hee cannot answere knowing nothing touching the matters<br />
Interrogate./
To the 7th hee saith that since the tyme Interrogate the sayd hamond did<br />
in this deponents presence divers tyes, and once about a quarter of a yeare since demande of the Interrogate Carey fiftie odd pounds<br />
(but how many odd pounds hee remembreth not) for the beefe delivered to him and<br />
his company for the use of the sayd shipp the ''Sisters'' of Ipswich, and the<br />
sayd carey upon the sayd last demand answered that hee had not the<br />
money to pay him or to that effect, whereupon the sayd hamond sayd<br />
hee must then take some course to recover the same or to that<br />
effect, And further hee cannot answere/
