hee deposeth for that hee helped to make the sayd warpes and Cables<br />
and to carrie them on board the sayd shipp and deliver them to the<br />
Companie thereof for the sayd shipps use as sent by the sayd<br />
Merrihurst, And saith hee well knoweth the sayd shipp stayed [?for GUTTER]<br />
the makeing of the sayd warpes and Cables and could not goe their intended<br />
voyage without them, and proceeded on their sayd voyage the next tyde<br />
after they had soe receaved them And further to these articles hee cannot<br />
depose./

'''Thomas Everson''' of Gravesend in the County of Kent<br />
Mariner aged 42 yeares or thereabouts sworne before the<br />
right Worshippfull John Godolphin doctor of Lawes one of<br />
the Judges of the high Court of the Admiralty saith and deposeth<br />
by vertue of his oath./.
That hee this deponent being Masters Mate in the ''hope'' of London of the burthen<br />
of 60 tunnes or thereabouts (whereof Thomas Harris was Master)<br />
laden with coales at New castle for London was taken by Peter<br />
de Rudder of dunkirke betweene fflamborrough head and Sw[?XX GUTTER]<br />
on or about the 13th day of december in the yeere <u>1652</u> and carried<br />
into dunkirke where the said shipp and goods were made Prize<br />
and this deponent further deposeth that Mr Isaac Knight and Mr William<br />
Emperor of Yarmouth Merchant were owners of the said shipp<br />
which hee saith was worth 200 ''li'' at Least, and of the said coales which hee<br />
saith were at that time worth in London 53 ''li'' 10 ''s'' and that Thomas Harris<br />
the Master of the said shipp did at the same time loose in the said shipp<br />
three casks and severall cases of bottells with strong waters with<br />
his Instruments apparrell bookes money and what else hee had, And<br />
Elizabeth Barrett at the same time lost a good quantity of Tobaccoe<br />
and strong waters, laden to be sent unto her husband, and he further<br />
deposeth that hee this deponent at the same time lost in apparrell and adventures<br />
9 ''li'' besides 4 ''li'' for his wages which were then due, and charges and losse of<br />
time whilest hee was detained at dunquirke, and untill hee this deponent got<br />
into England being five weekes./.
