Transcription and hee saith that one of the sayd shipps and hee saith that one of the sayd shipps company but which of them hee now remembreth not thereupon told the sayd Robert<br /> that hee was mistaken in makeing to that Tower for Saint Sebastian or to that effect<br /> whereith the sayd Robert was ffended, and speaking to him who soe<br /> sayd hee was mistaken sayd her would laye a wager with him that hee the<br /> sayd Robert was not therein mistaken or to that effect, And saith that afterwards<br /> the sayd shipp meeteing with fowle weather was forced to anchor on the back<br /> side of Cadiz whither shee came nigh shoare, with such sayles as<br /> shee boare out, standing, And saith it is usuall for shipps when they come [?or ?XXXXXX in]<br /> and lye neere Cadiz to shoote off a gunne and hange out Colours, And saith<br /> that some of the sayd shipps Company after they came to an Anchor on the<br /> back of Cadiz did hange out colours on the sayd shipp, but whether without<br /> the order of the sayd Thomas Browning the Master hee knoweth not, but saith<br /> the sayd Colours were taken in againe by Command either of the sayd Thomas<br /> or Robert Browning (but which of them hee now remembreth not) And hee<br /> saith that the sayd shipp having ridd on the back of Cales anight and a day<br /> or thereabouts and noe gunne fyred nor colours out saving as beforeis expressed the sayd Thomas Browning<br /> commanded the sayd shipps boate to be hoysed out and Commanded the<br /> Company of the shipp to come into the boate and they being all come therein<br /> it was concluded by the sayd Master and Company that it was fitt to forsake the shipp and to<br /> rowe in the sayd Boate for Cales and there get helpe to save the<br /> sayd shipp if they could, And hee saith that while the sayd Master and Company<br /> were soe gone toward Cales certaine Spaniards came (by order of<br /> the Governor as they afterwards sayd) and finding noebody aboard her cut her<br /> cable and the winde being then turned and serving to bring her off from<br /> shore the sayd Spaniards brought the sayd shipp and her ladeing to<br /> Cales, which while they were doeing, the master of the ''ffortune'' and Company<br /> having hyred at Cales a boate and men to helpe to get the sayd<br /> shipp ''ffortune'' and goods to Cales mett the sayd Spaniards on board her<br /> bringing her to Cales, by meanes whereof it cost the Owners of the<br /> sayd shipp and goods some moneys to redeeme the sayd shipp and goods<br /> out of the Spaniards hands, but how much hee knoweth not, but hath<br /> heard the Interrogants Joseph Tilly and Mr Vanderpost saye that the<br /> redemption of the sayd shipp and goods from the sayd Spaniards<br /> cost them neere upon five hundred pounds the premisses hee deposet being one of the shipps company and onboard and an eye and eare wittnes of them And further to this<br /> Interrogatorie hee cannot answere./ To the 6th Interrogatorie hee saith that the shipp ''ffortune'' after shee had delivered<br /> most after shee had delivered<br /> most  +
