Transcription of Viceadmirall of the said Towne, yet thaof Viceadmirall of the said Towne, yet that his family<br /> have their abode at fflushing. To the second Interrogatory he answereth that the said shipp<br /> the ''Popingay'' departed from fflushing on the voyage wherein<br /> she was taken on the seaventeenth day of November last<br /> (old stile) and that she was bound for the West Indies<br /> and that the first place they were at in the West Indies<br /> was Gardaloope a ffrench Island, where the said shipp<br /> lay at Anchor about 10 or 11 dayes, and that from that<br /> place the said shipp went to Saint Christophers Island<br /> upon the ffrench roade, where the said shipp stayed<br /> about fourteene days, and from thence to Estasys a<br /> dutch Island, where she stayed eight dayes, and from<br /> thence she returned unto Saut [?ponit] in Saint Christophers<br /> Island and from thence to Backstur a Roade in the<br /> said Island, and that this Rendent with the said shipp<br /> sett sayle from thence on the eighteenth of ffebruary<br /> last past (old stile) to Gardaloepe aforenamed, and<br /> that in her course thither she was taken and seizd on the<br /> 23th of the said month (old stile) by the ffleet under the<br /> command of Generall Pen And he saith that the said<br /> shipp had in her for her Lading when she went from fflushing<br /> Beefe, Porke, white, and Brandy wines, Oyle, Cloth and<br /> Commodities of all sorts, for he saith that there (sic) all<br /> Commodities afford traffique but Tobaccoes, Sugars<br /> Indico ad Ginger, the Commodities of the Country And<br /> further he cannot answeare./ To the third Interrogatory he answereth that the interrate shipp did<br /> in this her last voyage trade in noe other English plantation<br /> then in Saint Christophers Island And further referring<br /> himselfe to his answearee made to the foregoeing<br /> Interrogatory he cannot answeare./ To the fourth and fifth Interrogatoryes and to the<br /> schedule in the said fifth Interrogatory mentioned he deposeth<br /> and answereth that the interrate Adrian Adrian Merchant<br /> was the Supra Cargo of the said shipp the ''Poppingagy''<br /> and that the said shipp lying at Saint Christophers the<br /> interrate Clement Everard the Governour of the said Island<br /> of Saint Christophers did give license unto the said Adrian<br /> Adrian to sell the goods of the said shipp and to<br /> trade and traffique with the Inhabitants of the<br /> said Island by vertue of the said License, and according<br /> to the purport or directions of the said License, And<br /> he deposeth and saith that the schedule arlate being<br /> the License of him now deposed of that it was subscribed by<br /> the said Clement Everard, and that the words Clement<br /> Everard subscribed to the said License, were and are<br /> the proper handwriting of him the said Everard, The<br /> premisses he deposeth because he the deponent was<br /> present in the said Governour Clement Everard his house<br /> in Saint Christophers, and saw him subscribe the<br /> said License or schedule arlate bearing date the fifth of<br /> Januaryring date the fifth of<br /> January  +
