To the second article of the sayd allegati … To the second article of the sayd allegation he deposeth<br />
and saith that he this deponent hath knowne familiarly<br />
the arlate Melchior Aranguren for about fower<br />
yeares last past, and that by reason of the familiarilty<br />
and freindshipp between them, he doth very well know<br />
that the sayd Aranguren and the said Lopez de Apatras<br />
hath helsd communication and correspondence in the way<br />
of trade and merchandizing for about three yeares<br />
last past, The premisses he deposeth for that he the<br />
sayd Aranguren hath shewne and communicated unto him<br />
the deponent divers Letters within the said time which<br />
the sayd de Apatris had sent unto him about and<br />
concerning his affaires and negotiations, And further<br />
he cannot depose.
To the third article, he deposeth and saith that about Christmas<br />
last past and since, he this deponent did see and had<br />
communicated unto him by the sayd Melchior Aranguren<br />
divers Letters which he had received from the said de Baud<br />
and De La ffitt from Roane, By which Letters they<br />
the sayd de Baud and De La ffitt did acknowledge that<br />
they had received to and for the accompt of the said<br />
Lopez de Apatris the producent about 800 pound weight<br />
of Redd wooll and that the same was in their hands and<br />
custody for his the sayd de Apatris his Account, And<br />
that the sayd de Baud and de La ffitt did by every of<br />
their said Letters by them sent unto the said Aranguren<br />
as Corresponden of the said Lopez de Apatris acquaint<br />
him how the prices of Woolls went in ffrance, and that<br />
(as he beleiveth) every pound of the said wooll was then well<br />
worth about 20 ''s'' sterling, And further to the said article<br />
he cannot depose
To the fourth and fifth article sof the said allegation<br />
he deposeth and saith That by reason of the freinshipp and<br />
intimacy between the said Melchior de Aranguren and<br />
him the deponent, the deponent was from time to time made<br />
acquainted with, and had imparted unto him the Letters<br />
which he the sayd Aranguren received from the sayd Lopez de<br />
Apatris his affaires, And he deposeth that the said Melchior<br />
did communicate unto him this deponent a Letter in or about March last past or<br />
the beginning of Aprill the which he had receaved from the<br />
sayd De Baud and De La ffitt, wherin and wherby they<br />
did suggest (as a very good way in their iudgement) the<br />
selling of the said woolls and the investing the<br />
proceed therof into Linnens, and did by the said Letter advise<br />
him the said Aranguren that there was there then a hollands shipp [?a]<br />
