necessitated the ffrigott to put in there, soe that the Company of the sayd ffrigott perceiving<br />
his unskillfullnes of the Coast were forced by the helpe of a booke they had on<br />
board called a Waggoner which describes the forme of the land and what depth<br />
of water it affordeth to put the sayd ffrigott into harbour to avoide the sayd<br />
storme And further hee cannot depose saving hee saith the sayd Mabb did in<br />
this deponents presence confesse that he was never but once upon the saud<br />
Coast and that hee was not well acquainted therewith./

aged 31 yeares or thereabouts a wittnes<br />
sworne and examined saith and deposeth as<br />
followeth videlicet./
To the first article of the sayd allegation hee saith hee hath well knowne<br />
the arlate George Ceely for these tenn or twelve yeares last past and<br />
saith hee is an English man borne and a subject of this Commonwealth<br />
and saith of his this deponents knowledge the sayd Ceely on the months<br />
of March Aprill May and June last past was a ffactor resideing at Saint Lucar<br />
in Spaine, And saith that the sayd Ceely departing from Saint Lucar aforesayd<br />
about the latter end of the sayd moneth of June last, did leave power with<br />
this deponent (being his correspondent then at Civill in paine) to receive and<br />
dispose of all goods whatsoever which should be sent to him the sayd<br />
Ceely to Saint Lucar from any of his Correspondents, and amongst other<br />
goods to receive five ballotts of linnen which (as he wrote to Civill to<br />
this deponent) were laded on board the ''Crosse of jerusalem'' by Jouah<br />
Prigg his the sayd Ceelyes factor and Correspondent at Saint Mallo in ffrance<br />
for the Accompt of him the sayd Ceely and the sayd Josua Prigg, videlicet<br />
three fowerths thereof for his the sayd Ceelys Accompt, and the other fowerth<br />
for the Accompt of the sayd Prigg, And for those reasons hee beleeveth<br />
the sayd Prigg and Ceely doe correspond and trade each with other from<br />
Saint Malloes to Saint Lucar and from Saint Lucar to Saint Mallos And further to this<br />
artice for that hee hath noe personall knowledge of the sayd Prigg nor<br />
