Mariner, where he hath lived about three<br />
yeares past, a wittnes produced, sworne and<br />
examined he deposeth and saith as followeth.
To the first, second and third articles of the Libell<br />
given in and admitted in this cause and to the schedules<br />
therein mentioned he deposeth and saith That he the<br />
deponent did goe Master of the shipp the ''George'' of<br />
London in the voyage arlate, and that then the producents<br />
were Owners of the respective goods arlate, which were<br />
taken in at or neere Malaga, And he saith that he<br />
being Master of the said shipp did signe the bills<br />
of Lading libellate, The which and all the contents<br />
are subscribed with his propper handwriting And<br />
further he cannot depose
To the fourth, fifth, sixth, seaventh, and eighth articles<br />
of the said libell he deposeth, and saith that the<br />
shipp the ''George'' arlate safely arrived in this River<br />
of Thames in ffebruary last past, and that as well then<br />
as at the delivereing out of the Raysins [?Soles] arlate<br />
the sayd goods were dry and wellconditioned, and that<br />
the sayd goods being well=conditioned and merchantable, they<br />
were laden or putt aboard a Lighter to be transported<br />
to ffreshwharfe the name of which Lighter he knoweth not, And<br />
further he knoweth not.
To the ninth and tenth articles he cannot depose
To the eleaventh article he deposeth and saith That the damage<br />
which happened unto the goods arlate came by reason of<br />
the Lighters defect of this deponents knowledge for<br />
that the said goods were at their delivery out of the<br />
said shipp the ''George'' into the said Lighter, very dry and<br />
well conditioned And further he cannot depose.
To the 12th 13th and 14th articles he referreth himselfe<br />
to the Law and Registry of this Court Abd further<br />
he cannot depose
