Transcription Contents of this article, saying hee heardContents of this article, saying hee heard the said Mr. duck and other<br /> Merchants at Saint Lucar severall times say and declare, that severall of the<br /> said goods brought in the said shipp to Saint Lucar, would there come to a very<br /> badd markett, and that they would have yeilded a farr greater benefitt if<br /> they had come to and been according to order sold and disposed of at Santa Cruz To the 8th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof/:- To the 9th hee saith hee referreth himselfe to the proceedings of this Court And<br /> further cannot depose:- To the last hee saith, his foregoeing deposition is true:-/ To the Interrogatories/ [CENTRE HEADING] To the first Interrogatories hee saith hee cometh to be a witness in this cause<br /> at the request of the producent James Cowse who desyred this rendent to<br /> testifie the truth of his knowledge therein and saith hee hath noe share or interest<br /> in this cause neither will it bee any benefit to him this rendent that hee knoweth of<br /> if the saud Cowse prevaile therein nor preiudice to this rendent if hee bee overthrowne<br /> therein, and saith hee would give the victory in this cause to them to whome of right<br /> it belongeth if it were in his power, and saith hee is noe waies of kinn or alliance<br /> to the producent nor servant to him otherwise then as hee went in the sayd shipp Masters<br /> mate the voyage in question, and hath receaved nothing nor expecteth ought for his<br /> testimony in this cause And further hee cannot answere/ Ro the second hee saith hee well knoweth the shipp Interrogated and went both Pilott and Masters mate of the sayd shipp<br /> the voyage in question and was put in soe to doe by the said Keene the Interrogant<br /> who undertooke to pay him this rendent his wages for the sayd voyage but refused<br /> to pay the same till this deponent by suite of lawe in Spaine receovered the same<br /> of him and then hee the sayd Keene seeing it was adiudged against hin soe to doe, did<br /> order one Watts a Merchant at Saint Lucars to pay this respondent his<br /> wages adiudged which the sayd Watts accordingly did./ To the 3 Interrogatorie hee saith hee referreth him selfe to his foregoeing deposition<br /> to the allegation in this cause given wherein hee hath at full answered the effect of<br /> this Interrogatorie saving hee saith hee beleeveth if the sayd shipp had not put<br /> in at Saint Lucar as shee did shee and her ladeing had perished the sayd shipp being as is<br /> predeposed forsaken of all her company but this respondent and the Interrogant and a<br /> little boy, both which were uselesse to this respondent in conducting the sayd shipp safe<br /> to Saint Lucar, the master being sick and the boy being able to yeild bery little helpe<br /> toward the sayd shipps preservation. And further hee cannot answere To the 4th hee saith that the sayd shipp Interrogate was very much damnified in<br /> the storme Interrogate and lost her mayne mast and paart of her mizen mast and her Boltspritt<br /> and a great paart of her rigging and her mayne topp sayle and her midshipp [?XXXX] soe that shee could<br /> not have gone from Saint Lucars to the Canaries without being first repayred<br /> but saith as is predeposed that the foresayd Mr Richard<br /> duck did offer to supplye the sayd Keene with moneys necessarie to have repaired<br /> the sayd shipp if hee the sayd Keene would have accepted of it and caused her<br /> to be repayred and proceeded on his voiage to Santa Cruze soe that there was noe<br /> necessitie of the sayd shipps ladeing being put ashoare at Saint Lucar if the sayd<br /> Keene had bin willing to have proceeded on his voyage And hee saith that<br /> the sayd Keene not being willing to proceede on the voyage<br /> tog to proceede on the voyage<br /> to  +
