in the County of Surry Marchant, aged 28 yeares<br />
or thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the said allegation hee saith that the lading of goods aboard the said<br />
shipp the ''Grayhound'', lately, namely yesterday was seavenight or<br />
thereabouts, cast away with the said shipp upon the Neworke<br />
neare Yarmouth, consisting in deale bords and timber, did at the<br />
time of such their casting away really and truely belonge to this deponent<br />
and partner Thomas Shirley, both Englishmen Marchants, and<br />
subiects of this Commonwealth, and were bought and paid for in<br />
Norway at holmstrand with their money and there laden for their<br />
proper and sole accompt by the said Thomas Shirley, to be transported<br />
to this port for their accompt.

Wardrobe London Marchant, aged 28 yeares or<br />
thereabouts, sworne and examined.
To the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that Thomas Shirley<br />
English marchant (whom hee well knoweth) partner of his precontest<br />
Peter Blackborough, about seaven weekes since tooke the said shipp<br />
the ''Grayhound'' to freight of and from John hall her master and<br />
William Wood and others her owners, for a voyage to be made therewith<br />
to holmstrand in Norway to fetch deales and timber thence for the<br />
accompt of him the said Thomas in partnershipp with the said<br />
Peter Blackborowe, to this port of London, which affreightment<br />
was soe made upon the Royall Exchange London with the privitie of this<br />
deponent; And saith the said shipp proceeded hence accordingly<br />
and as this deponent hath received advice from his factor in those<br />
parts, shee tooke in her said lading at holmstrand, within two<br />
[?miles] or thereabouts of [?halloms-boove] whence this deponents<br />
factor wrote, and where hee laded a shipp for this deponents<br />
accompt. And further that as this deponent hath bin credibly<br />
informed, the said shipp ''Grayhound'', comming in her homewards<br />
voyage neare yarmouth, was cast away upon the<br />
Newarke about nine dayes since, with her lading of deales<br />
and timber belonging to the said Peter Blackborowe abd Thomas<br />
Shirley.
