Transcription theise two yeares last<br /> hath hatheise two yeares last<br /> hath had and nowe hath his factors and agents at Cadiz and Saint Lucars to that<br /> purpose, and saith that for tenn or eleaven yeares at the least of this deponents said<br /> knowledge of him, hee the said producent lived in Cadiz, and since for two<br /> yeares or thereabouts having left his habitation there hee hath dwelt at Antwerp<br /> and while hee soe dwelt at Cadiz this deponent dwellt in Saint Lucars<br /> (where hee still dwelleth) and hath taken up many goods for the said producent<br /> comming from fflanders to Saint Lucars for the said producents accompt<br /> and hath snt them to him to Cadiz, and since his departure from Cadiz<br /> as aforesaid, this deponent having intimate acquaintance with his<br /> correspondents and agents at Cales well knoweth of his continuation<br /> of his said trade there for silver, And for a merchant of such trade<br /> and traffique hee the said producent was and is commonly accompted and<br /> reputed. And otherwise hee cannot depose. To the second, third fourth and fifth articles of the said allegation and the<br /> schedules therein mentioned hee saith and deposeth that about a fortnight<br /> before the shipps the ''Sampson'' the ''Saint George'' and ''Salvador'' arlate set saile<br /> from Cadiz the voyage in question for Ostend, namely about the<br /> beginning of October last hee this deponent being bound for fflanders<br /> and comming from Saint Lucars to Cadiz to imbarque himself waent to the<br /> houses of the factors of the said Mr Boscaert dwelling in Cales<br /> namely Maximilian da [?hopgha], David [?Molenstein], and ffrancis de la<br /> Sierpe, and acquainted them the said factors being of his intimate acquaintance that hee was bound for fflanders<br /> and asked them what service they would commannd him thither, and that hey [?and]<br /> upon discourse that they had laden silver and plate to a good valew<br /> aboard the said three shipps and alsoe aboard other shipps then bound for<br /> fflanders for the said producents accompt, and showed him the<br /> bills of lading thereof, and in particular they showed him the bills<br /> annexed to the said allegation for the severall quantities of silver and<br /> plate and of the respective markes mentioned and specified in the<br /> said second article laden for his accompt, and desired this deponent<br /> that for asmuch as their letters of advise to the producent might happen to miscarry, hee<br /> this deponent comming to Antwerp would acquaint the said Mr Boscaert<br /> with the said plate laden aboard the said shipps for his accompt, to the<br /> end that upon the shipps arivall hee should looke after the same. And<br /> saith that the said producent George Boschaert was and is commonly<br /> accompted the true and lawfull and sole owner and proprietor of the<br /> said silver and plate. And further that hee this deponent is well<br /> acquainted with the arlate Ottavio George, Christian Cloppenbergh<br /> and John Martenson dorp commannders of the said shipps and with the<br /> said Otto George his Purser and with their hand writing, and saith and<br /> verily beleeveth the bills annexed for the plate therein said to be laden<br /> aboard the ''Sampson'' to be all signed with the proper hand of the said Otto<br /> George his Purser, saving that of the marke [MARKE] which hee beleeveth<br /> to be signed by the said Otto George himselfe and for the plate aforesaid<br /> said to be laden aboard the ''Salvador'' and ''Saint George'', hee verily beleeveth<br /> the said bills for the same annexed to the said [?XXX]<br /> to be respectively signed with the hands of the said Christian Cloppenbergh and<br /> John Martenson dorp (referring himselfe to the said bills) [ADD DATA]ng himselfe to the said bills) [ADD DATA]  +
