Transcription baggs of peices of eight coyne of Peru conbaggs of peices of eight coyne of Peru conteyning three thousand<br /> peices of eight videlicet each bagg two hundred and fifty peices of eight [FIRST MARKE, LH MARGIN] more or less marked and numbred as in the margent. And allsoe<br /> the tyme and place aforesayd the sayd Christian Aelst and Jeronimo<br /> Brudgmans did cause to be laden aboard the shipp ''Salvador''<br /> whereof the arlate Christian Cloppenburgh was master, fifteene<br /> baggs of money conteyning three thousand seven hundred and fifty<br /> pecies of eight of Peru videlicet each bagg conteyning two hundred [SECOND MARKE, LH MARGIN] and fifty peices of eight more or lesse marked numbred as in the<br /> margent. And further sauth that the sayd Christian Aelst and<br /> Hjeronimo Brudgmans in the month of July 1652 did cause to<br /> be laden att Cadiz aforesayd the sayd shipp the ''Salvador''<br /> the aforesayd Christian Cloppenburg master four barrs of sylver<br /> which were of good alloy of Nova Hispania marked and numbred [THIRD MARKE, LH MARGIN] as in the margent and weighing in the whole three hundred<br /> sixty six markes and five ounces, All the sayd moneys plate<br /> and sylver for the proper use and Accompt in halfe of the sayd<br /> Christian Aelst and Jeronym Brudgmans to be carryed and<br /> transported in the sayd shipp respectively from Cadiz to Ostend and<br /> there to be delivered to the sayd Christian Aelst and Hjeronimo<br /> Brudgmans for their use and accmpt, The premisses he knoweth<br /> be true for that he saw the particular numbers of the weight of the sayd<br /> barrs as they came from the Indies, and did himselfe tell and count<br /> all the sayd peices of eight and putt them upp in their respective baggs<br /> and marked the baggs, and was aboard the respective shipps att the<br /> lading of all the sayd moneys and plate, and saw and assisted att and in<br /> the lading thereof. And further he cannot depose To the third he saith that upon the day of the lading the aforesayd<br /> twelve baggs of money as aforesayd conteyning three thousand peices of<br /> eight the arlate John Martinsdorp aboard the ''Saint George'' in the<br /> sight of this deponent firmed three bills of lading all of one tenor for<br /> the same, one whereof was left with the sayd John Martinsdorp, and<br /> did remayne as this deponent beleeveth aboard the sayd shipp att the tyme<br /> of seizure; and two of the sayd bills this deponent took and delivered<br /> to his sayd master Jeronimo Brudgmans who sent one of them to fflanders<br /> and kept the other himselfe and brought it with him to this Citty, And<br /> saith the Bill of Lading to the allegation annexed with the name<br /> Jan Martinsdorp att the foot thereof is one of the originall bills of lading<br /> signed a shipboard in the bay of Cadiz, for the sayd twelve baggs, and is<br /> true and reall which he knoweth by the handwriting of this deponent<br /> wherewith the body and margent thereof was then written and now it is<br /> and by the firme of the sayd Martinsdorp who signed the same in sight of<br /> this deponent, who alsoe knoweth that the sayd Hjeronymo Brugmans his<br /> master brought the same to this Citty where he saw it in his possession<br /> And further referring himself to the Acts of this Court he cannot depose. To the fourth he saith that att the respective tymes of lading the sayd 3760<br /> peices of 8/8 in fifteene baggs as aforesayd, and the sayd four barrs of<br /> plate as aforesayd aboard the ''Salvador'', the arlat Christian Cloppenburgh<br /> on board his shipp the sayd ''Salvador'' in the sight of this deponent signed<br /> six bills of lading for the same that is to say three of one tenor for the<br /> sayd 3750. peices of eight, and three of one tenor for the sayd four<br /> barrs tenor for the sayd four<br /> barrs  +
