Examined upon an Allegation on behalfe<br />
of the sayd Claymers.

merchant aged four and twenty yeares<br />
or thereabouts a witnes sworne and<br />
Examined deposeth and saith as followeth<br />
videlicet.
To the first Article of the sayd Allegation This deponent saith and deposeth that<br />
the arlate Christian Aelst merchant of Antwerpe in fflandersm and<br />
Hjeronimo Brudgmans merchant of Seville in Spaine in the monethes<br />
of August September October November and December last past 1652<br />
were and att this present are and ought to be the true and lawfull Owners<br />
and Proprietors in half or moietyes of all and singular the sylver<br />
plate and moneys mentioned and expressed in the three bills of lading<br />
to this allegation whereon he is examined, annexed and now shewne him<br />
marked with the markes in the margents of the sayd Bills of ladings<br />
expressed, and as such commonly accompted reputed and taken. The<br />
premisses this deponent knoweth to be true for that being the servant of<br />
the sayd Hjeronimo Brudgmans and attending hi and his affaires att<br />
Cadiz about the tyme above deposed videlicet in July August and September 1652<br />
knoweth that the sayd Hjeronimo Brudgmans bought and procured the<br />
sayd silver and moneys arlate for himselfe and the sayd Christian Aelst<br />
part thereof with the proceed of fine linnen and bone lace of fflanders<br />
and for other part thereof Bills of exchange were drawne upon the<br />
sayd Christian Aelst to be satisfyed att Antwerpe, this deponent seeing the<br />
plate and moneyss bought, and the letters receyved from the sayd<br />
Aelst ordering the buying of the same, and himselfe writing the<br />
letters to the sayd Aelst wherein an Accompt of the whole busines to the<br />
effect predeposed was given. And further he cannot depose.
To the second he saith that in the moneth of September 1652. the sayd Christian Aelst<br />
and Jeronimo Brudgmans did cause to be laden att Cadiz aboard the shipp<br />
the ''Saint George'' whereof John Martins dorp was master the arlate twelve<br />
baggsmaster the arlate twelve<br />
