Transcription To the fifth he saith and deposeth that thTo the fifth he saith and deposeth that the three Bills lading to the <br /> sayd allegation annexed and none showne are three of the bills of lading<br /> for the sayd moneyes plate and sylver laden aboard the sayd shipps <br /> respectively as aforesayd, which this deponent knoweth and believeth for the <br /> reasons above expressed. And further saith that although in the same <br /> Bills of lading It be expressed that the sayd moneys and plate therein <br /> respectively mentioned and for the use and Accompt of the sayd Paul Cobrissy<br /> of Bridges, yet in truth and reality the sayd sylver moneys was laden <br /> aboard the sayd shipps for the sole use and Accompt of the sayd John Mexia <br /> de Herrera, and the name of the sayd Paul Cobrissy was made use of <br /> [partly] in regard of the danger of lading the sayd sylver in Spaine as in <br /> arlate and [partly] because att or about that tyme the producent was ill at <br /> ease and sick and uncertaine whether he should be able to go along <br /> with the sayd shipps himselfe, And So much the sayd John Mexia de <br /> Herrera as well before the lading of the sayd money and plate as <br /> afterwards did declare to this deponent att Cadize aforesayd. And further<br /> he cannot depose. To the fifth he saith that the arlate John Mexia de Herrera for these<br /> fourteene yeares past hath bene and att present if of the certaine knowledge<br /> of the deponent a merchant of Toledo in Spaine, and a Subject of the <br /> King of Spaine and a Spaniard by birth being as the common repute[d]<br /> borne in the Bishoprick of Toledo aforesayd. And for such the sayd <br /> John Mexia de Herrera was and is commonly accompted reputed and laden.<br /> And further he cannot depose. To the Crosse interrogatories [CENTRAL HEADING] '''Row. dt.'''/ To the 1st and 2nd he saith that he this deponent came aboard the ''Saint George'' as a <br /> passenger in October 1652. And saith that the producent is a Bachelore and<br /> borne att Temblick in the Bishoprick of Toledo. And otherwise he<br /> refereth himselfe to his foregoing depositions, And further he cannot<br /> depose. To the third and fourth he saith that the interrate John Mexia de Herrera <br /> being present with and standing together with this deponent on the [Strand]<br /> as aforesayd did lade the sayd moneys and plate as aforesayd by his <br /> Agent Louis Carasco diaz a Spaniard accompanied and assisted with <br /> Boates[men] and others all Spaniards. And otherwise referring himselfe to<br /> his foregoing depositions he cannot depose. Saving that the sayd moneys and<br /> plate was all laden in the days tyme about eight of the clock in the morning. To the 5th and 6th he saith and referreth himselfe to what he hath formerly <br /> declared, and further he cannot depose. To the 7th and 8th he saith that he this deponent saw the sayd Louis Carasco <br /> dias in the Bills of lading mentioned goe aboard respective shipps <br /> whereon the moneys and plate Interrate was laden and aforesayd together as <br /> the sayd moneys and plate. And otherwise saving his former depositions he <br /> this deponent being not aboard the sayd shipps att the tyme of lading <br /> he cannot depose. To the ninth he cannot depose. To the 10th he saith that the sayd shipps were bound to Ostend onely and the <br /> money and plate interrate was for the use and Accompt of the producent only <br /> and was to be converted to his sole use and Accompt in fflanders. And [otherwise]<br /> negatively and further he cannot depose. To the 11th and 12th he saith that the sayd John Mexia de Herrera did acquaint <br /> this deponent att Cadiz that he would and did lade and in presence of this deponent<br /> did there give expresse Order to the sayd Carasco to lade the sayd moneys <br /> and sylver as aforesayd for the Accompt and Risco of him the sayd Mexia de<br /> Herrera.
