Transcription that he did then understand that the sayd that he did then understand that the sayd ffrancis Du Boys intended [to]<br /> lade the sayd baggs of money aboard some of the shipps then lyeing in th[e]<br /> Bay of Cadize bound for fflanders, And accordingly afterwards in the[e]<br /> latter end of sayd moneth of September this deponent being aboard th[e]<br /> arlate shipp the ''Sampson'' then riding att an Anchor neer unto Cadiz[e] <br /> saw the sayd ffrancis du Boys bring and lade aboard the sayd shipp<br /> ''Sampson'' some baggs of sylver but how many this deponent saith [he]<br /> cannot certainly depose, and saith that he then laded the same for [his]<br /> owne proper Accompt and Risco. And he further saith that some days<br /> after this deponent being in discourse with the sayd producent in C[adize?]<br /> he then told this Examina[t] that he had likewise laden for his owne [accompt]<br /> aboard the ''Salvador'' (wherein he intended himselfe to sayle and [goe]<br /> to Ostend) the Remaynder of the said baggs of sylver or peices of eight<br /> this deponent [had] formerly seen in his howse and were not laden aboard<br /> the ''Sampson'' att the tyme that this deponent was aboard the ''Sampson'' as af[oresaid]<br /> And further he saith that the sayd baggs laden aboard the ''Sampson'' w[ere]<br /> to be transferred from Cadize to Oostend there be delivered for the use and<br /> Accompt of the producent to him the sayd producent or his Assignes, this dep[onent]<br /> being present when the same were laden for the that purpose. And the sayd produc[ent]<br /> allso told this deponent that the moneyes laden aboard the ''Salvador'' wer[e]<br /> to be transported to Ostend and there to be delivered to to himselfe for his o[wn]<br /> Accompt and in case of his absence to his Assignes. And he saith that he<br /> the says ffrancis du Boys att and in the month of September last past<br /> was and is as this deponent believeth the true and lawfull Owner an[d]<br /> Proprietor of the sayd moneys above by him this deponent deposed of<br /> being the proceed of severall Linnens laces and other merchandises<br /> of fflanders which he receyved from his Correspondents there for <br /> his owne Accompt. And otherwise he cannot depose. To the second he saith he cannot depose. To the third he saith he cannot depose. To the fourth he saith he cannot depose. To the fifth he saith that he this deponent hath knowne one Jacq[ues]<br /> Hoyes of Oostend (whom this deponent believeth is the party interrate) for<br /> theis six years now past or thereabouts to be a ffactore att Ostend for merchants of Spaine by the correspondence with the deponents and saith that the tyme of the<br /> lading of the sayd sylver or peices of eight as aforesayd and<br /> before and since there was and att present is correspondenry betweene the<br /> producent and the sayd Jacques Hoyes. and the sayd Jacques Hoyes<br /> hath done business as a ffactore for the producent.<br /> And further he<br /> cannot depose. To the sixth he saith that the aforesayd money by him this deponent predeposed<br /> of were and are proper goods of him the sayd producent as he hath<br /> predeposed and doe not belong to any Subjects of the United Provinces<br /> or King of Ffrance interrate, or the subject of any Prince or state<br /> in hostility with the Commonwealth of England. And further he cannot<br /> depose. To the seventh he saith that he this deponent comeing the ''Sampson'' as a <br /> Passenger from Caddize doth thereby know that the sayd shipps the<br /> ''Sampson'' and ''Salvador'' in their direct Course for Ostend with their<br /> severall and respective lading aboard them were seized and surpris[ed]<br /> by some of the shipps of the Commonwealth by meanes whereof the sayd<br /> moneys laden aboard the ''Sampson'' as aforesaid being then aboard the sayd<br /> shipp, and the moneys laden by the sayd ffrancis d[?a] Boys as he told the<br /> deponent aboard the ''Salvador'', and being aboard at the sayd tyme of<br /> seizurerd at the sayd tyme of<br /> seizure  +
