Transcription sylver covered with Canvas weighing togethsylver covered with Canvas weighing together one hundred three markes five<br /> ounces and a half[?e] of the 8th marke and number in the margent, two barrs of<br /> sylver of the 9th marke and number, and one bagg of the tenth marke<br /> containing one thousand peeces of eight Peru money, all to be transported in the<br /> said shipp to Ostend in fflanders and there to be delivered to the ffactors Agents<br /> and Correspondents of the said producent for his proper accompt use and benefitt<br /> The premisses hee deposeth upon the reasons ensueing, that is to say, for that<br /> hee this deponent having for severall yeares last past held Correspondencie with, and<br /> well knowne the trade and negotiation of Edward Peters, was in the<br /> yeare 1652 predeposed at Antwerp, where this deponents settled residence is, and where<br /> the said producent before the tyme that the said shipps were taken showed unto<br /> this deponent letters of advise and bills of lading which hee had receved from his<br /> said ffactors over land, intimating and importing, that they had laden, all the greatest<br /> part of the sylver bullion and moneys aboard the said shipp[?s] by the order and<br /> for and upon the proper accompt and adventure of the said producent in returne<br /> of such his goods as hee had formerly sent unto them, And for that the said<br /> producent upon the receiving of the said letters of advise and bills of lading, told this<br /> deponent that hee intended to write to one Mr Rishoult (sic) then a Merchant in London<br /> to give intimation to this Court that such silver and moneyes were laden aboard the<br /> said shipps for the said accompt, as this deponent then also writt concerning his owne<br /> interest in the said shipps. And otherwise saving his precedent and subsequent<br /> depositions hee saith hee cannot depose./ To the 4. article of the said Allegation and schedules or bills of lading thereunto<br /> annexed now showne unto and exactly perused by this examinate hee saith and<br /> Deposth, That the said ffactors agents and Correspondents of the said Edward<br /> Peters shortly after the lading of the severall parcells of monies plate and silver as is<br /> predeposed, sent unto him letters of advise with bils of lading for the same which this<br /> deponent as aforesaid then perused in Mr. Peters his howse at Antwerp and which<br /> have since the seizure of the said shipps been sent here into England expressely<br /> for the Clayming of the said sylver for the said accompt, and forasmuch as this<br /> Deponent is by manie yeares experience well acquainted with the severall handwriting<br /> wherewith the bills of lading now showne unto him are filled up and firmed, as<br /> hee in Conscience stedfastly beleeveth, and for that hee findeth the nyne bills of<br /> lading now perused by him punctually to agree with other nyne of the same respective<br /> tenors seized in the said shipps, and now remaining in the Registrie of this<br /> Court where this deponent hath often seene and perused them, hee is fully and<br /> absolutely confirmed and assured, that the said bills of lading were and are<br /> true and reall, and so had and done as therein is contained. And further<br /> cannot depose:/ To the 5. and 6th. hee saith an deposeth, That the said Edward Peters<br /> the producent in this Cause hath formerly lived at Dover in England, from<br /> which place hee traded into Spaine for sylver, and caused severall great quantities<br /> of sylver and bullion to be imported into this Nation this deponent then holding<br /> Correspondency with him.
