Transcription sent to the said producent intimating and sent to the said producent intimating and expressing, that they had respectively<br /> laden as is predeposed, the severall parcells of moneys aforesaid for the said producents<br /> [proper] accompt, and accordingly this deponent saw the said [?] sett downe and outred<br /> in the said producents bookes of accompts by his [percontest]. And otherwise saving his<br /> following deposition hee saith hee cannot depose. To the 4th article of the said Allegation and schedules annexed hee saith and deposeth, That the ffactors<br /> predeposed in some of the moneths of the yeare 1652 before the ladeing of the<br /> said peeces of eight as aforesaid, sent over Land from Cadiz to Antwerp to the said<br /> producent letters of advise thereby intimating that in lieu of the goods received by<br /> them from fflander for his accompt, they intended to send him returnes of moneys<br /> in the said shipps the ''Sampson'', ''Salvadore'', and ''Saint George'', And since the said<br /> baggs of pieces of eight were by them respectively laden videlicet in the moneths<br /> of August September October and November 1652 or some of them, the said ffactors<br /> againe writt unto the said producent declaring unto him that they had as<br /> aforesaid laden the said severall baggs of pieces of eight for his accompt and<br /> adventure, and together with their letters they sent also to the said producent 4<br /> bills of lading (which this deponent verily believeth to be the bills of ladeing<br /> annexedto the said Allegation and non showne unto him) and saith the same are<br /> reall and true bills of lading, and really made and done according to the contents <br /> thereof, which hee deposeth having by reason of his intimate acquaintance as<br /> aforesaid, beene constantly admitted to see and peruse the letters interchangeably sent betweene<br /> the said ffactors and the producent for and concerning their Correspondence and trade, <br /> and by that [priand] well knowing the handwriting wherewith the said bills of<br /> lading are filled up namely 2 of them with the handwriting of the said<br /> Gerard Ryper, and two of them with the handwriting of the brother of the<br /> said John Lamotte, and two of the said bills being firmed by the said John<br /> Martins Dorp and one by the said Christian Cloppenburgh with their<br /> owne handwritings, and the fourth by the Purser of the said Otto George in <br /> his name, whose usuall firmes this deponent by the former frequent sight<br /> and observation thereof, is well acquainted withall, And otherwise <br /> canno depose. To the 5th hee saith That shortly after the said producent has received <br /> advise of his said ffactors intentions concerning the lading of the moneys<br /> aforesaid, and some time before the seizure of the said shipps, the said<br /> producent writt a letter, which this deponent then presented and sent the same<br /> into England unto Paul Mariner, his Correspondent dwelling at Southampton [bene] signifying<br /> unto him that according to advise received from his ffactors in Spaine hee<br /> expected the parcells of moneys deposed, and desired him in Case the same<br /> were brought into England, to make demands thereof in the said producent<br /> behalfe, or to that effect.
