Transcription ffactor and Agent of the sayd Conrade Esseffactor and Agent of the sayd Conrade Esser did att Cadiz in Spaine lade and<br /> putt aboard the sayd shipp ''Salvador'' (Christian Cloppenbergh Master) the foresayd<br /> bagg of moneyes for the producents Accompt to be in the sayd shipp transported<br /> from Cadiz to Ostend in fflanders and there delivered to the sayd Conrade<br /> Esser or his Order for his use and Accompt, and that after the lading there<br /> the sayd Christian Cloppenbergh firmed three bills of lading all of one<br /> tenor for the said moneyes, one whereof went with the sayd moneyes and<br /> was on board the sayd shipp att the tyme of seizure, and that the bill<br /> of lading mentioned in the sayd allegation abiding in the Registry of this<br /> Court now shewne him this Examinat was and is one of the sayd originall<br /> bills of lading and that the comtentes thereof were and are true. The<br /> premisses This deponent knoweth to be true for that about the beginning<br /> of Augist 1652 being att Saint Lucar in Spayne he there saw the foregoing<br /> bagg of moenyes in the howse and possession of the sayd Joachim Schaer, and<br /> there saw the sayd Ryalls told counted bagged upp and marked by the<br /> sayd Schaer, who then told this deponent that the same were the moneyes of<br /> the producent and that he would lade them aboard Christian Cloppenbergh [?XXX]<br /> att Cadiz for the producents ccompt consigning them for Ostend, And this<br /> deponent afterwards att Saint Lucar aforesayd heard the sayd Joachim Schaer [?say]<br /> that he had laden the same accordingly, and that the sayd Christian Cloppenbergh<br /> had signed three bills of lading for the same, and this deponent att the same<br /> tyme saw in his hands one of the sayd bills which was of the very same tenor<br /> with the bill of lading now shewne himsigned by Christian Cloppenbergh<br /> in the sayd moneth of August with whose character and manner of writing<br /> and firmeing this deponent is well acquainted. And otherwise he cannot<br /> depose saving that he beleiveth that the bill of lading now shewne him was<br /> sent into the Registry of this Court by them that made the seizure. To the fifth article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that after the sayd<br /> bag and peices of eight in the same were laden as aforesayd the sayd<br /> shipp sett sayle therewith from Cadiz and in her course to Ostend was taken<br /> and seized by some of the shipps of this Commonwealth and brought into<br /> England, and that the sayd bagg with 300 peices of eight was then [?abord]<br /> the sayd shipp and came into the hands of the seizors, which he knoweth<br /> comeing a Passenger aboard the sayd shipp from Cadiz and being [?abord]<br /> her att the tyme of seizure. And otherwise he cannot depose. To the sixth article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that the sayd factor<br /> of the producent told this deponent att Saint Lucar that the sayd moneyes were<br /> the proceed of the producents owne goods; and saith the sayd producent<br /> did and doth runn the sole adventure thereof and that noe subiect of the<br /> States of the united Provinces or of the ffrench King or of anye [?other]<br /> Prince or State in hostility with the Commonwealth of England had or hath<br /> any share or interest therein or any part thereof, and otherwise [?saving]<br /> his foregoeing depositions he cannot depose. To the seventh article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that the sayd Conrade<br /> Esser was and is a native of Hamburgh and a subiect of the free state<br /> thereof and so accounted and for theis three yeares last past and att<br /> present hath bene and is an Inhabitant of the same place and for<br /> nyne yeares before did live in Saint Lucar in Spaine as a merchant<br /> stranger where this deponent knew him and was well acquainted with<br /> him. And otherwise he cannot depose./> him. And otherwise he cannot depose.  +
