The 3d day of March 1653.
The foresaid '''Antonio de Ponte''' to the Crosse Interrogatories <br />
brought in 3d March 1653.
To the 1. he saith he cometh to be a witnes att the desire ofAnthonio<br />
Rodriguez Roblez. and as to the property and identity of the sayd<br />
shipp Spirito Santo he referreth him selfe to his foregoeing<br />
depositions and further cannot depose.
To the .2. he saith he knoweth not that the name of the sayd shipp<br />
is written in dutch that being a language not understood by him.<br />
and being not att the Barbadoes with the sayd shipp knoweth not what<br />
papers were on board her. and further referring himselfe<br />
to his foregoeing depositions he cannot depose.
To the third he saith he never saw any Commission on board the sayd<br />
shipp against the English nor doth he know beleive or hath heard any<br />
such matter. And as touching his Religion he saith he is a Roman<br />
Catholique, and holdeth himselfe bound as a Christian man to speak<br />
the truth and nothing but the truth upon his Oath in any cause betwixt<br />
the Spanairds and English, and holdeth the English in generall<br />
to be Christians of the Church Catholique and Apostolique. and<br />
as for the interrate [?yoo] and Bredon he knoweth them not. And<br />
further cannot depose
To the 4th. he saith that not belonging to teh sayd shipp the voyage<br />
that she made when she came to the Barbadoes, he cannot depose<br />
otherwise than as aforesayd.
