To the seventh Interrogatory he saith that … To the seventh Interrogatory he saith that all the lading of the sayd shipp now<br />
seized was receyved aboard att the sayd port of Malaga. And saith he<br />
knoweth one Andrew Massa<br />
or Marste,<br />
and knoweth well Charles van damme interrate, and saith<br />
he saw the sayd persons att Malaga and was often in their Companie<br />
there and the sayd Massa or Marste was aboard the sayd shipp att Malaga<br />
and the foresayd pipestaves were sent in the sayd shipp to them the sayd<br />
[?Marstle] and van damme and were so consigned by Brandt and Snyeter<br />
afore mentioned. And otherwise cannot depose.
To the eighth Interrogatorie This deponent saith he hath lived in Hamburgh<br />
[?bac=helor] and maried man 27 yeares or therabouts, and hath had his wife and family there 12 yeares<br />
or thereabouts. And saith Adrian Goldsmith interrate is by common<br />
fame and repute an Hamburgher, but whether he hath his howse<br />
and dwelling in Hamburgh or where he hath lived for theis ten<br />
yeares last past this deponent for his part saith he knoweth not but hath heard that hee liveth in Antwerpe. And<br />
saith that the foresayd pipestaves were all as he beleiveth for the<br />
accompt of the sayd Adrian Goldsmith. And the merchants goods<br />
nowe aboard the sayd shipp were and are for the Accompt of him the<br />
sayd Adrian Goldsmith according to a bill of lading for the same<br />
which is as he beleiveth in the Registry of this Court and hither sent by<br />
the Captaine that made the seizure, whereto he referreth himself<br />
and otherwise cannot depose.
To the ninth Interrogatory this deponent saith that there belong to the sayd shipp<br />
the ''Leaping Hart'' 11. persons men and boyes, most of them Hamburghers<br />
and all Easterlings one common mariner onely excepted<br />
named Thomas, and saith he knoweth not what countryman the sayd<br />
Thomas is, nor doth know that the sayd Thomas or any other of the<br />
shipps Company did or doe belong to Holland or Zealand or<br />
were or are subiects of the States of the united Provinces. And saith<br />
the sayd shipps Company came all aboard the sayd shipp att Hamburgh.<br />
and that there was not any one that went or came supra Cargo<br />
or merchant in the sayd shipp. And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the tenth Interrogatorye this deponent saith that he this deponent hath<br />
aboard the sayd shipp the quantity of five pipes of malaga wines<br />
and about .40. barrells of Raisins, all for his owne Accompt, And<br />
his shipps Company have likewise some small quantityes of wyne<br />
to the value of about three pipes, and likewise some small quantityes<br />
of Raisins but how much in certaine he knoweth not, and saith for<br />
the sayd goods of ths deponent and shippes Company there was not nor<br />
is any bill of lading, and knoweth not that there were any other<br />
goods aboard att the tyme of seizure, for which therewas noe bill<br />
of lading. And otherwise he cannot depose.
