To the 20th hee saith that the severall marchants and factors lading the<br />
said goods telling him to whom they were to be consigned and where to be delivered<br />
hee signed the bills accordingly, and withall entred them in his book[?e]<br />
with mention of whom they were received, saving that when hee was under<br />
saile and departing out of the Baye of Cadiz, there came a barke<br />
aboard him, and brought all the goods mentioned in the bills of lading nowe<br />
by him produced and left, which goods hee received aboard and while the<br />
barke laye fastened to his shipp hee signed the said bills of lading, with<br />
two others of the same tenor with each of them, which two others of each hee<br />
delivered to the master of the barke to be carried ashore to the marchants;<br />
And being soe brought after hee was under saile hee put them by themselves<br />
and they being apart from the rest hee did not sea (sic) them when hee was<br />
commannded aboard the Captaine that seized him with the rest<br />
of his bills and papers, and soe the same were remayning aboard when the<br />
rest were delivered up and carried ashore at dover and in the downes hee comming againe aboard his shipp found those [#]

being stormie) to enter them in his said booke before the said seizure, And<br />
otherwise hee cannot answer, saving as aforesaid.
To the last hee saith that hee signed bills of lading for the said silver<br />
which bills hee saith were and are true and reall, and that some of them<br />
were amongest those bills soe carried ashore at dover and that theise<br />
are the rest thereof. And othwerwise saving his foregoeing deposition<br />
cannot answer.
