To the second Interrogatorie hee saith and … To the second Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth that the said<br />
shipp after her departure from the Canarayes and as shee<br />
was proceeding in her course for London was off Scilley<br />
upon the first day of ffebruary last past English stile<br />
mett withall surprized and taken by the ''Patricke'' and the<br />
''ffrancis'' two men of warre belonging to Jersey and by<br />
them with her ladeing and Company was carryed first<br />
into Scilley and presently after into Jersey<br />
where the same was condemned for and made prize<br />
of and his precontest and diverse of his company were<br />
allsoe carryed of prisoners into the said Iland and there<br />
detayned. All which hee knoweth to bee true because hee<br />
this deponent was abord the said shipp the ''Mathew and''<br />
''John'' when shee was soe seized and was allsoe carryed<br />
a Prisoner into Scilley roade with the rest and sawe the said<br />
shippe and his said precontest soe taken and carryed away<br />
for Jersey. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the third Interrogatorie hee saith that hee for his part doeth<br />
not knowe who were the owners of the said ship when<br />
shee was soe seized but hath credibly heard it reported<br />
that his said precontests Edward Arlibeere the younger and<br />
Edward Arlibeere the Elder his father had some share and<br />
Interest in the said ship. And otherwise hee cannot depose
To the Crosse Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith that the said ship the ''Mathew''<br />
''and John'' arrived at the Canary Islands upon or<br />
about the 13 or 14th dayes of december last past old stile<br />
and came from thence directly for London upon<br />
the Ninth day of January last past as is predeposed to<br />
which hee referreth himselfe for further answere hereunto<br />
And other wise cannot depose.
To the second Interrogatorie hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing<br />
deposition and otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the third Interrogatorie hee saith that when the said ship was<br />
seized shee was in her direct Course for London<br />
And otherwise referring himselfe to his foregoeing<br />
deposition hee saith hee cannot depose./
To the last hee saith that hee this deponent with some others of<br />
the said ships Company were set on shore in Corenewall about the<br />
14th or 15th day of ffebruary next after the seizure of the said shippe<br />
And saith that one John Hawten servant to his precontest<br />
