given in against them on the behalfe<br />
of the Keepers of the libertyes of England<br />
by authority of Parliament.
To the first second and third pretended<br />
positions, they and either of them answere and<br />
beleeve that these respondents haveinge<br />
formerly had the said shippe the ''Anne'' alias the<br />
''Endeavour'' in this cause controverted taken<br />
from them by a Jersye Pirate and carried<br />
to Jersey the arlate Purrlay and Langley both<br />
ffrenchmen and subiects of the ffrench Kinge<br />
liveinge at Saint Malloes did procure the said<br />
shippe from the said Jersey Pirat and afterward<br />
as theis respondents beleeve put in the<br />
articulate Lawrence Le Garr master of her<br />
who was and is as these respondents beleeve<br />
a ffrenchman and subiect of the ffrench Kinge<br />
and theise respondents beleeve that at the time<br />
of the said shipps seizure by the Parliaments<br />
Shipps the articulate Le Garr was in her<br />
as master and all the rest of the company<br />
were ffrenchmen as they beleeve and that the<br />
said shippe before her seizure came out<br />
from Saint Malloes And that the said Purrlay<br />
and Langly kept the said shippe after they had<br />
got the same at Jerzey as aforesaid by the<br />
space of two yeares and not above as they<br />
beleeve, And otherwise for their parts they<br />
nor either of them doe not beleeve the said<br />
positions or any of them to bee true in any<br />
parts thereof.
To the fourth pretensed position they and<br />
either of them answere and beleeve that after<br />
such time as the articulate Purrlay and<br />
