Ad 3um arlum dicti allegationis deponit that hee was a fourth part<br />
owner of a ship called then the ''Cumberland'' of London whereof<br />
Peter Knight was Master And saith that the said Knight went with the<br />
said shipp upon this deponents and the rest of his then owners account upon a trading<br />
voyage from this port of London to Rochel from thence to Dublin<br />
in Ireland from thence back to Rochel and Bourdeaux. And when she<br />
came to Bourdeaux he saith the arlate Peter Knight sold to<br />
the aclate Samuell Beake bought the said shipp then lying in the port of Bourdeaux<br />
for the summe of foure thousand livers<br />
which he knoweth by being part owner, namely of a fourth part<br />
and by his factor Gabriell Reaw merchant in Bourdeaux<br />
having received the said summe of 1000 livers for his share<br />
or fourth part. And this deponent and the rest of the owners approved<br />
of such sale made by the said Master And for the reasons aforesd this deponent<br />
beleeveth the said Mr Beake to bee only proprietor of and that<br />
the propriety to rese only in him. And for such hee was and is commonly<br />
accounted.

Ad primum rendet et deponit that hee was one of the Company namely Masters<br />
Mate of the shipp the ''Welfare'' InterrateSamuel Ratell Master the voyage in<br />
question which voyage she began on or about the twentieth of<br />
December last past from Plymouth to Leghorne, from thence to<br />
Gallipoli, to lade oyles thence to London, whenre the foresayd<br />
shipp arrived and came to an anchor about five weekes since at<br />
Shadwell dock or staire where she delivered her [?lading]<br />
