his Majesty of this Deponents certaine Knowledge. who lived at<br />
Swanzey and was very often onboard and with the said<br />
Captaine Dowdall And further cannot depose.
To the 6th. 7th. and 8th. hee saith that on or about the 14th. day<br />
of may last, the Interrate Captaine William barker Comander<br />
of the ''Litchfeild ffrigot''. came to the Port of Swanzey<br />
and the ''Henrietta Maria'' being Run a shore<br />
above the Towne of Swansey, the said Captaine<br />
sent most of his men up Armed to seize upon the said ffrigot [?the GUTTER]<br />
''Henrietta Maria'', and they being come up neere her this<br />
deponent who was then there, seeing them come in that manner<br />
went to them, and desired to speake with their Officers<br />
thereupon they called out the [XXXXs] mate (as hee [XXX GUTTER]<br />
himselfe to be) and this deponent asking then if they had [XXX GUTTER]<br />
higher officer, they replyed , that their Masters [?mate] was [XX GUTTER]<br />
and hee coming to this Deponent (who knewe him very well)<br />

telling them that the King was Proclaimed, and<br />
that they had proclaimed him onboard the said ffrigott<br />
''Henrietta Maria'', and that her Captaine George Dowdall<br />

of Hostility, and likewise told them, that the said Dowdall<br />
sailed with the Duke of Yorkes Comission or to that effect<br />
to which the said Masters mate (named Oliver More)<br />
made answer that they should have faire Quarter, and<br />
that they would not meddle with any thing, but secure the<br />
ffrigot. till they knewe their Captaines Pleasure, and<br />
this Deponent hearing of the said mats Promise soe faire, called<br />
to the Lieutenant of the ''Henrietta Maria'' and one<br />
Captaine Swillisant and the rest of the Officers and mariners<br />
onboard her, and desired to lett them come on board [XX GUTTER]<br />
[?them] what the Masters mate had Promised, and the said [?masters GUTTER]<br />
mate againe saying, to them that they should have faire<br />
Quarter and that they would meddle with nothing, only<br />

that were in her, Permitted them to come on board<br />
And saith that soe soone as they were come on board and<br />
had disarmed the ''Henrietta Marias'' Company they did in a<br />
violent and hostile manner, and contrarye to their [XXXX GUTTER]<br />
Plundered the said ffrigot and tooke away much money<br />
and stripped all or most of her Company, and some of [?them GUTTER]<br />
