who hath lived in those Islands for about Sixteene<br />
or Seaventeene yeeres, And saith that most English<br />
merchants (as well as the producent) that trade to the said<br />
Islands doe assume, and take upon them fictitious<br />
Dutch names the better to Colour their Trading to, at<br />
and from the said Islands. The Premisses hee Deposeth<br />
having lived with the said Producent for about 8<br />
yeeres last, and during the time hee hath lived with<br />
him in this City hee hath and doth at Present, write letters<br />
for the said Producent, to the said Alvarado, and when<br />
the said Producent is abroad or busie this deponent doth subscribe<br />
the name Peter Vander Rubin to the said Letters, and alsoe receive<br />
many letters for the said Producent from the said Alvarado directed<br />
to Peter Vander Rubin at Amsterdam. and further<br />
cannot depose./.
To the 4th hee saith that about Janiary or ffebruarye<br />
1657. the said Producent did cause to be laden on<br />
board a Shipp called the ''Susan ffrigot'' of London, wherof<br />
Abraham Philliter was Master she Lying then in the<br />
River of Thames, bound for the Canaryes for his owne account a great quantity<br />
of Goods, of severall sorts and also a Letter of Credit amounted to the vallue of about [one thousand XX GUTTER]<br />
and Consigned them to the said Alvarado<br />
in the Canaryes<br />
And the said Producent wrote a Letter to the said Alverado [XXXX GUTTER]<br />
him To sell or barter the said Goods for wines and other Goods. and<br />
alsoe to buy wines and other goods with the foresaid moneyes<br />
paid upon the said Bill or Letter of Credit, and to send the same<br />
for England for the Account of him the said Producent<br />
or to that effect And saith that upon the returne of the said ''Susan ffrigot''<br />
there were letters brought from the said Donn Alverado<br />
to the Producent wherein hee wrote that hee had receaved the goods, and bill<br />
of Credit, which were sent in the said ship ''Suzan ffrigot'',<br />
and had sent some small matter of the proceeds of<br />
them in the said ship, or to that effect the Premisses hee<br />
deposeth for that hee Copyed the foresaid letter send (sic) by the Producent<br />
to the said Alvarado, and alsoe sawe the foresaid Letter send by<br />
the said Alverado to the Producent And further hee<br />
