from the Southward to the Northward,<br />
almost Crosse the tyde, and came foule of the<br />
''Mary Rose'' as shee was sailing as aforesaid (the Alborough ship being shott by) and<br />
laid her foreshrowds against the Boltspritt of the<br />
''Mary Rose'', and one of the Lanyards of the ''John'' was<br />
hooked by the Anchor of the ''Mary Rose'', All<br />
were hee saith happened and came by reason of the<br />
Sheering, the said Ship as aforesaid, and not by<br />
any fault whatsoever of or in the master or Company<br />
of the ''Mary Rose'', The premises hee deposeth<br />

coming foule of the ''Mary Rose'', and did haule downe<br />
the for Topsaile and maintopsaile, and hauled up her<br />
foresaile as aforesaid, and saith that hee did not<br />

''Rose'' say or declare that they would not slacken their<br />
sailes, or lett fall an Anchor, or any words<br />
to that Purpose, neither did he heare either the Master or<br />
