Merchant aged 35 yeeres or<br />
thereabouts Sworne and Examined
To the first hee saith that the arlate Henry prescot<br />
Whom this Deponent hath Knowne for above tenne<br />
Yeeres last ./ did in the former<br />
Part of the yeere 1657 and for some time before<br />
live and reside at<br />
Oratava in the Island of Teneriffe one of the Canarye Islandes as a Merchant stranger<br />
and as an Englishman, and during his residence<br />
there he did send many pypes of wine frǒm<br />
thence to this port, upon his Account<br />
and severall goods were sent from hence by<br />
his ffactor to him at Teneriffe, which hee Knew<br />
for that this deponent did live at Oratava aforesaid:<br />
the greatest part of the time the said prescot<br />
lived there and was there familiarly acquainted<br />
with him and tooke notice of such his Trading<br />
And further saith that in the Latter end of the<br />
Yeere 1657 the said prescot came from the<br />
Canaryes to this Port in the ship the ''Justice''<br />
(John Goodtree Master) and brought with him about the<br />
Number of Two hundred ffifty and [?p][3] odd<br />
Pipes of wine for account of himselfe and other<br />
Englishmen, some of which belonged to this<br />
Deponent And further cannot depose./:
To the Second hee saith that ever since the said<br />
Henry Prescot came from the Canaryes hee<br />
hath Traded from hence to the Canaryes for<br />
wines upon his owne Account, and this Deponent<br />
hath since his said Coming over sent goods to<br />
the Canaryes with Goods of the said prescot And<br />
further cannot depose./:
To the 3d he saith that in the latter end of March<br />
or begining of Aprill 1658 the said Henry<br />
Prescot did lade or caused to be laden onboard<br />
the ship the ''Saint Laurence'' (Peter Bennewysen<br />
then Ryding in the River of Thames and bound<br />
for Oratava aforesaid, Severall peeces of [KXXXX GUTTER]<br />
a Quantity of Statute Lace, Norwich Stufts [XXXXX GUTTER]<br />
Serges Callicoes, Stocking, and some other things<br />
whch said Goods this deponent at the request of the said<br />
Master Prescot helped him to buy; and this Deponent like helped him to buy; and this Deponent like helped +
