''Hope'', upon the respective Accounts of … ''Hope'', upon the respective Accounts of the said Producents<br />
asa foresaid and were to be Transported in the said ship to [?Dover]<br />
or the Downes, and the said ship having received the foresaid<br />
goods onboard, and alsoe severall other goods, shee departed, and<br />
set saile out of the said Indias, to come for Dover or the<br />
Downes in her Course thether shee was by stormyes<br />
forced into Milford Haven, And Mr page, Mr ffernandez<br />
and other owners of the said ship and Cargoe Procured a warrant<br />
or order for a Convoy, and sent the same downe to Milford<br />
Haven. And the said warrant or order being directed to Captaine Barker [?Comander]<br />
of the Lizard ffrigot, this Deponent (who was then there) went aboard<br />
the ''Lizard ffrigot''. (the ''Bazen ffrigot'' being gone from [?there]<br />
and gave the said Captaine Barker the said warrant or order<br />
which upon sight and receipt thereof tooke the said ship<br />
and her Lading into his Protection, and Convoyed her<br />
safe to the Downes where shee and the ''Lizard'' lay at<br />
Anchor together, And there the ''Hope'' and her Lading were<br />
by some of the Officers of this Comonwealth seized, and<br />
all the said Goods laden on board the said ship at the said<br />
Spanish West IIndias upon the Account of the said Claimers [?did]<br />
together with the rest of her Lading come to the hands of<br />
the said seizors The Premisses hee deposeth being [?Master] of the<br />
said ship all the said voyage, and being made Privy to the<br />
Premisses, and coming from Milford Haven into the River<br />
of Thames in the said ship ''Hope'', And further Cannot [?depose]
To the 6th hee saith that the said Jacomo Otto is Comonly<br />
accounted and reputed a Hamburger borne, but a subject of<br />
the States of the United Netherlands, and soe this deponent<br />
beleeveth him to be, And the said William alias Jacob [?XXX]<br />
is generally accounted a native subject of the said States, and [?this]<br />
this Deponent verily beleeveth hee is, And further cannot<br />
depose.
To the 7th hee saith that the said Bartholomew Guiadier is as<br />
this Deponent verily beleeveth a ffrenchman borne, and a Subject<br />
of the ffrench king, and soe hee is Comonly accounted<br />
