To the Interrogatories.
To the first hee cometh at the instance of the producent to speake what<br />
hee knoweth in this cause, and saith hee liveth at Crooked Lane<br />
London, and hath soe donne about seaven yeares last and used and useth<br />
the said trade of a tobacconist or worke man in tobaccoes, and saith<br />
hee knoweth not his worth in cleere estate having many debts owing<br />
him which hee knowes not what hee shall get in, and otherwise negatively.
To the second hee saith hee sometimes cuts and makes up tobaccoes<br />
for the said Mr Warner as hee doth for other men, and otherwise<br />
negatively.
To the 3 hee saith that Mr Philip Allen had tobaccoes come home in<br />
the shipp ''Alexander'' the said voyage, which this deponent tooke up for<br />
him, soe had Mr Burall, and Mr Jefferies and others, and
To the fourth hee saith he saw some of the hogsheads of tobaccoe that<br />
came home in the said shipp the said voyage weighed, and that they<br />
weighed some three hundred, some three hundred and a halfeand some three hundred three quarters, and some foure hundred and<br />
scarse any above, And further hee cannot answer.
To the 5 and 6 hee cannot answer.
To the 7th hee saith that for two or three yeares last (and noe longer)<br />
some particular men have had hogsheads of Virginia tobaccoe brought<br />
home of a larger size and capacitie than commonly Virginia hoogsheads<br />
used to be, but for the generalitie they have not bin bigger. And<br />
further hee cannot depose.
