hee saith hee cannot depose not being in the voyage in question<br />
nor privie to the transactions thereof/
To the 8th for the reason aforesayd hee cannot depose/
To the 9th 10th 11th 12th and 13th articles of the sayd allegation<br />
hee saith for the reason aforesayd hee cabbot depose to them/
To the 14th and 15th articles of the sayd allegation hee saith that<br />
hee this deponent by order of the sayd Antonio Rodrigues Robles<br />
did goe aboard a shipp lying in the River of Thames which (as it<br />
was sayd) had bin seized and taken by a frigott in service of<br />
this Commonwealth, and as it was sayd was a dutch shipp<br />
and named the ''Elizabeth'' and coming aboard her sawe a great<br />
quantitie of pipes of Canarie wynes aboard her which<br />
shee was delivering aout into lighters (and that by order of<br />
this Court as hee hath heard) amongst which pipes of Canarie<br />
wines in the sayd shipp and the lighters which were receaving<br />
her ladeing hee this deponent did take notice and observe that<br />
there were about thirty sixe pipes of Canarie wynes marked<br />
with the severall markes mentioned in the margent of the<br />
sixth article of the allegation whereon hee is now examined<br />
And further to those articles for the reason aforesayd hee<br />
cannot depose./
To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true
To the Interrogatories on the behalfe of his<br />
highnes the Lord Protector./ [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee is an Englishman by byrth<br />
borne at Evesham in Worcestershiere and is a subiect to this<br />
Commonwealth of England And to the rest of the Interrogatorie<br />
hee answereth negatively/
To the 2 Interrogatorie hee saith hee hath knowne the Interrogate<br />
Antonio Rodrigues Robles for these tenn yeares last past or<br />
thereabouts And saith hee is a married man and a housekeeper<br />
And further to this Interrogatorie saving his foregoeing deposition<br />
hee cannot answere/
To the 3 Interrogatorie hee saith that the Interrogate Antonio Rodrigues<br />
Robles paid customes for the wines predeposed of by this deponent<br />
in his deposition to the second article of the allegation as a Merchant<br />
stranger, this hee the better knoweth for that hee hath sometymes<br />
bin at the Custome howse with his precontest domingo de La [XXXX GUTTER]<br />
