were carried away prisoners for Spaine, before Generall Penn and<br />

saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose.

company of the said shipp the ''Nicholas'', aged 23 yeares<br />
or thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that hee<br />
well knoweth the two brothers arlate Claes Johnson and Barent<br />
Claseson and hath soe donne for theise twelve yeares last or thereabouts<br />
and well knoweth that shortly after the beginning of the late warrs<br />
betweene England and the States of the United Netherlands the said<br />
Claes Johnson in a shipp named the ''Angell'' and Barent Claeson<br />
in another named the ''Yellow Sun'' carrying each twenty guns were<br />
set out from Amsterdam for Guinney on a trading voyage, which<br />
hee knoweth being then at Amsterdam (and seeing such their setting out<br />
and seeing the said two brothers goe masters of the said two shipps,<br />
and saith that Peter Poulla and hartie Johnson allegate and company<br />
were then commonly said to be their setters out and imployers, and this<br />
deponent saw the said Peter and hartie busie in the said setting out<br />
the said shipps. And further hee cannot depose.
To the fourth fifth and 6th articles hee saith and deposeth<br />
that afterwards this deponent comming from Genoa to Cadiz in Spaine<br />
in a Genoa shipp, there found the said Claes Johnson and Barent<br />
Claseson, who there (namely at Cadiz) recounted unto him their hard<br />
shipp and ill successe with the said two shipps the ''Angell'' and<br />
''Yellow Sun'', and what had passed to that time, and that now<br />
by the permission and leave of the king of Spaine they were at<br />
Cadiz bying a shipp to<br />
goe to Santa domingo to fetch off their said two former shipps effects and goods<br />
